About this cottage rental

Nestled in New Brunswick, this lovely cottage for $439 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to select your desired currency in the header. In a word - 'Breathtaking'. Whitecaps Summit is a sister cottage of Whitecaps Retreat (Property #1071521vb) and Whitecaps Cabana (Property# 2447853). The three cottages share access to the private sandy beach on the west and access to Creaser's cove (pebble shoreline) on the East. Whitecaps Summit is located on the top of the Kraut Point peninsula, near Riverport, Nova Scotia. From its high perch, take in the 180-degree panoramic ocean view, from the LaHave Islands, up the LaHave River and all the way over to Creaser's cove. It is located 350 ft from each of its sister cottages, Whitecaps Retreat (VRBO ID - 1071521) and Whitecaps Cabana (VRBO ID - 2447853) - far enough to have privacy, but close enough for three groups wanting to rent 3 cottages. Perfect for extended families, Whitecaps Summit has three master bedrooms with king-size beds, and one bunk room with four single beds. Two of the master bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, and the third shares a bathroom with the bunk room. The cottage has a modern design, with an open kitchen, dining and living room, from which you can take in the expansive view. The kitchen is complete with all the modern amenities you would expect, and the dining table has space for 10. Through the large french doors off the kitchen, you enter the screened-in porch with comfortable patio furniture and table for dining alfresco. Off the second story is a sundeck with a breathtaking 180-degree view. This deck offers spectacular stargazing. Wrap up in a fleece blanket from the basket on the second floor landing and count the shooting stars. This region of Nova Scotia is known for its warm waters where the LaHave River meets the Atlantic Ocean. During low tide, play on the private beach, 600 feet south of the beach stairs . A warm beach with shallow sand bars is a rare experience on the East Coast. The beach and stairs are shared with Whitecaps' sister cottages, Whitecaps Retreat (Property #1071521vb) and Whitecaps Cabana (Property # 2447853vb) You will find beach chairs, boogie boards and a lobster boiler in Summit's shed. The steep driveway and hill to the beach stairs offers a mini workout, pack shoes with a good grip for the climb :) If it’s surf you are looking for, Hirtle's and Kingsburg beaches are mere minutes away. During all seasons and wherever the tide, visitors enjoy beachcombing the shores of Whitecaps. One of our daughters particularly enjoys photography on beach walks. Some of her photos are included at the end of the collection on this site. We are located 15 minutes from Lunenburg, a World Heritage UNESCO site and home of the Bluenose II sailing schooner. In the town, you will find restaurants, galleries, a museum, quaint book stores, and charming shops near the waterfront. The LaHave ferry is a 5-minute drive from Whitecaps. The cable ferry takes you to the well known LaHave Bakery. Park your car and take the ferry across or drive on board to explore the south side of the LaHave River. Cyclist love this route and also use the ferry for exploring the area. Attractions/ Adventures in the Area - Hiking Gaff Point - Ovens Sea Caves - Tour the Bluenose II in Lunenburg - Beaches: Hirtles, Crescent, Rissers - Petite Riviere Vinyard (cross on the ferry) - Sea Kayaking - Deep Sea Fishing - Seasonal Festivals - Nordic Spa in Chester, Spa at Ninety4 in Lunenburg and others. - Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic - And many more!

As a family, we were looking for a rental that would allow our entire family to be able to just spend time together. This property certainly allowed for this. Ourselves, as grandparents, along with each of our two children and their spouses had their own spacious bedroom and bathroom. The grandchildren were thrilled to make use of the bunk room. We had no issues finding the property and found things to do in the immediate area - just crossing over and back on the ferry to La Have (and of course the bakery!) was an adventure for the grandkids. The appearance of two deer while we were eating breakfast was another highlight for our three year old granddaughter. The house was well equipped for us to prepare our own meals. It is apparent that the hosts have thought of their guests every possible need. The view from the upper balcony and lower deck allowed for us to just relax and take it all in. The stargazer pillows and blankets were a big hit and put to good use. Definitely would recommend this home!

Peaceful, beautiful, clean, quiet with everything one could need while on vacation. The three King beds were the most comfortable beds any of us had ever slept on…wow! Great for 3 couples traveling together…3 full baths as well! For anyone traveling with kids the additional bunk beds are an extra bonus. We loved the view and location too!

We had a wonderful 2 week stay in this very comfortable cottage. The added bonus of a private beach was fun and even though the water was chilly it was a great place to spend a few hours before lighting the fire pit in the evening. Lunenburg is an easy drive with many great restaurants and the ferry across to the bakery in LaHave is close by also. Peggy’s cove is slightly further but a good place to visit. Overall I would highly recommend Whitecaps as a great place to stay. I would also like to thank Andy for checking in on us when the storm arrived to make sure we were doing ok. Thankfully it didn’t deter us too much as the gas bbq and fire pit were made good use of when the power went out. Thanks again Natasha and family

Beautify property. Great panoramic views from atop the hill. Property was new and very clean. Numerous small attention to detail items put in place by hosts to make it an extra special stay.

It was the perfect family vacation spot for my family, and for my parents and in-laws who were also with us. The house was everything we had hope for and more! The location, the view and all the little touches included with the property were amazing! The 3 spacious bedrooms with king sized beds were very comfortable and my son loved his room with the bunk beds and “his furniture”. The upper deck was a favourite spot to sit and relax and to enjoy some drinks. We also really enjoyed the screened-in lower deck to eat dinner and avoid the bugs. The beach was fun to explore and surprisingly the water was warm, considering the weather wasn’t the sunniest. We all enjoyed our vacation on the East Coast and made many great memories! We would love to venture back one day!

We had a lovely stay at this property! Views from every room and clear nights on the upper deck were amazing! The beds in the main bedrooms were very comfortable! We found plenty to the do in the area, with the caves at Ovens Natural Park being our fave. The property was clean and had the essentials. We also saw a deer mama and her baby walk across the property as well as a bald eagle! It was a great week-long 40th birthday stay!
