About this house rental
Situated in Lake Wallenpaupack, this lovely house for $432 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. This lakefront home has plenty of space for family or friend groups to gather together with a separate apartment area to allow room to spread out! The main level living space has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, living room, a screen porch used as an enclosed eating area, and a large deck overlooking the lake. The lower level has a game room with a second equally spacious covered deck and an extra sleeping area with a full/twin bunk and an odd little bathroom area. The upstairs has a loft area with and large bedroom with two sets of bunk beds, a queen/twin bunk and full/twin bunk. There is a private bathroom for this room. In addition to the main house, there is a separate 2-bedroom apartment with one bathroom and its own private living space and deck (no kitchen in the apartment). There is a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ grill, and linens are provided on request. The home does not have central air, but there are window units in the main living areas and the bedrooms so each area can be adjusted to your liking. There is a private floating dock available from early April through fall. A community boat launch is just 0.3 miles down the road. 2 kayaks and a paddle board are available for your use. The community center also has a swimming pool, playgrounds, tennis courts and basketball court. Boat and jet ski rentals are available on the lake Memorial Day through Labor Day. The dock is in a protected cove across from Cairns Island. This is a beautiful location in a very popular NO WAKE ZONE! Swim right off the dock. Cairns Island has a picnic area and beach, and there is a bald eagle nest just down the road. THIS IS A STEEP MOUNTAIN PROPERTY WITH MANY STEPS DOWN TO THE LAKE. The marina is close by and could be used to pickup/drop off anyone who might have trouble with the steps. The main level of the house can be accessed with just two small steps and a firepit also on the same level as the driveway. Winter rentals please be aware that the driveway is extremely steep requiring 4wheel drive. When icy, sometimes it cannot be plowed, and it may be necessary to park at the top of the drive and use the stairs. Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday. House was just as described. Plenty of room for our family of 12 to spread out. The apartment was perfect for the teens to have their own space yet still be part of our celebration. The only downside is the steep terrain. This is in the description but should definitely be considered in case you have very young/elderly members in the group. Beautiful view and location is convenient to everything.

Beautiful property. Outside needs some attention, weeds etc but it's a wooded lot with a lot of wildlife to watch. The deer, chipmunks and squirrels come really close. Bald eagles are amazing. The inside was clean and well stocked. The layout functioned perfectly for our large group. Only complaints would be that the mattresses in the apartment are very uncomfortable and the lower level bathroom needs to be enclosed. The owners were great and so easy to deal with. Overall we had a great time!

We stayed here for an extended family trip. Between the main house and the apartment over the garage we had plenty of space (and even a little to spare) for our family of 13 people. The property is in a great location and easy to get to attractions but we really felt like we had lots of privacy. The dock was great with enough room for us to have a couple boats and a bunch of us hanging out there together. The kids enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming in the cove off the dock. The steps up and down from the house are no joke!! We normally planned to stay down there for a few hours at a time to avoid going up them too much. The outdoor deck off the main floor of the house was also very spacious for us to hang out when we weren’t at the water. There is a bald eagle’s nest a couple properties down so we had a chance to see them flying around quite a bit. There were even two hanging out on the roof of our garage to greet us the first day of our stay. We would definitely stay here again!!

Great place to stay with friends or family. Tons to do. The property owners have done a very nice job of have everything you really need everywhere you need it. From all the fire places/ heaters on the decks to the fire pit to the lake access. It’s truly a great place to stay. All the amenities you could ever need and more. Saw a bald eagle right off the front deck.

From start to finish, renting this property was a dream. Communication with the owner was great and I can't say enough good things about the property. Check in was easy via lockbox and house was walk in ready. The kitchen and living areas were spacious with room for everyone to relax, watch a movie, play a game, etc. Lots of sleeping area and beds were comfy! The AC units kept the house cool during a hot week, so no complaints there! All basic amenities were available on site.....dishes, cookware, laundry, cleaning products, spices, etc. The decks were a beautiful spot to enjoy the outdoors and the private dock was awesome to hang out on; we fished, floated, kayaked and enjoyed the lake all week! Our group did include all adults; note there are a lot of steps from the house to the dock, so it may be more difficult with young children, but not undoable. The location is great - we visited Promised Land State Park and Claws n Paws Animal Park during our stay....both within 30 minutes of the house. Overall, an amazing family vacation in a lovely home in a great location. Highly recommend!!

Family vacation 2022
The lake was beautiful and the house was big enough that we always felt we had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. We didn’t use the community center at all. We tied floats up to the dock and spent all day down on the water. The one thing I would say that we could have used is a portable canopy because for most of the day there is no shade on the doc.

Wonderful family vacation home
This was a great house for a full family vacation. We had 16 people, 4 separate families, aged 6 to 66. The house had plenty of rooms and space to spread out. It was stocked with everything you could need for a perfect getaway. The only issue was the stairs to the lake. We were definitely warned, but those stairs are no joke. Be warned, they are not for the elderly or those with carrying age children. Would absolutely book this house again!

Lovely property on the lake
We had such a great time staying at this property. Even though the lake level was down (which we were told about) we still took the kayaks out and were able to explore the island across from the property (100% recommend doing). My husband even found some arrow heads out there. It is close eniugh to the Promise Land State park to enjoy hiking there as well. We had fun playing ping pong, pool, and having a camp fire each evening.
If you are bothered by dog hair, please remember they do allow pets for an extra fee. My 1 year old often had dog hair all over her from crawling on the floors and found dog food multiple times.
Communication with owners was fabulous. They responded so quickly and even helped ship sunglasses that we accidentally left behind.

We rented this property for six days hoping to decompress after eleven continuous months of work and pandemic stress. We ended up with eight guests, plus my wife and I. To say there was enough room in this home is an understatement. Everything was clean. There was a fully stocked kitchen and all linens and towels were provided. On top of that the view from the back decks, which overlook the lake, were magnificent. The community is constantly full of meandering wildlife. We saw lots of deer, eagles, woodpeckers and wild turkeys. The owners were so right about everything being available, all that was required was to fill the EMPTY, absolutely clean fridge. That doesn't happen in a hotel . . . full size fridge! Immediate responses to our questions and memories of the Blue Moon rising on Halloween night over the ridge was incredible and will stay with us forevermore. Definitely hoping to experience this Lake House again!
