Perfectly situated for amazing hiking in the Adirondacks. Quiet, clean, cozy. Our family had an amazing time. Would definitely go back to this property.

This property is kept in excellent condition. A lot of thought has gone into what is at hand, as if you the renter were a guest or family member. Really good photographs on the walls. Very comfortable and relaxing. The washer and dryer are first rate and a big plus. Only two recommendations: 1) there is a step down from the living room to the area where the main bedrooms are located. It would be helpful if there were a warning about that as you come in for the first time. I didn't see it clearly and nearly took a tumble. 2) there is a problem with lighting the stove burners. The two on the right didn't function well. Neither of these amount to much compared to the location, views, and quality of property and upkeep. Recommended highly.

House and Hosts are superb. Great location to explore the High Peaks region. Keep in mind that the road to the cabin is steep and there is a neighboring house very close to the cabin. Overall cozy and relaxing but not a private setting.

We enjoyed our quick getaway to Lake Placid. The cabin was lovely and the views were gorgeous. We had everything we needed. We hope to return and spend more time hiking. Thank you!

The cabin and property are beautiful, the photos hardly do it justice! The place was immaculate and well stocked with everything we could possibly need -- including a boot dryer that came in super handy with a 5-yr-old who loves to play in the elements! We loved the outdoor fire pit especially. Would love to come back in summer or fall for more hiking!

What a wonderful little cabin in gorgeous Keene, NY. Cabin was spotless and had everything we needed for a ski weekend. I just wish we were able to stay longer! I plan to go back.

Random Scoots cabin is idyllic. Clean, exactly as advertised and comfortable, the cabin is charming and everything you could want and more for a vacation in Keene. The location is perfect and spot it is situated on is gorgeous. We were particularly impressed with the fact that the cabin comes fully stocked with every kitchen utensil you could need and a great washer and dryer. We loved our week-long stay and will definitely be back.

This cabin was perfect in every way we could hope for- beautiful views, comfortable setup, every feature and item provided made sense. I think it is the only stay we’ve had where we didn’t have to ask the owners a single question, even though they were very accessible right next door. Shaye did say hi on our first say and showed us where to build an awesome toboggan track, and when we broke our sled, we found two more sitting in the snow waiting for us the next day. 4WD is a must for the steep hill to the house in winter; the man who ploughs the snow lives down the road. Highly recommend Cedar Run Bakery, Forty Six Restaurant and Dartbrook Rustics just down the hill in Keene.

Our friends and we enjoyed a great get away weekend at the Random Scoots Cabin in Keene, NY. While we mostly came for the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, we enjoyed snowshoeing at the VIC and cross-country skiing at Dewey Mountain during our stay. The cabin was cozy and perfect for our trip. Very clean, equipped with all the essentials and a good location for visits to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake. Just make sure you have four wheel drive to get up the hill to the cabin!

Everything was just as the description said and appeared to be in the listing. Super clean & well equipped with pretty much anything you would need. Will most likely plan a return trip with the family in the future.

We had a wonderful 5 days staying at the cabin. We felt at home in the cozy cabin with our pup and enjoyed hiking, skiing and playing board games. Will definitely be planning another trip here in the future!

Random Scoots is the perfect base camp for Adirondack adventures. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find the cabin even nicer than the pictures. It was meticulously clean, warm and cozy. There were so many thoughtful details which made our stay so enjoyable. A well outfitted kitchen, board games to bond over, and we unrolled the large, laminated map in the living room which made planning the next day's hike feel even more like an adventure! We had consididered trying Giant, but opted for for Jay Mountain and "The highway in the sky" did not disappoint! Evening by the firepit, listening to the sounds of the Ausible was perfect for stargazing. We wanted to chose a property that would be comfortable to spend the day in if the weather kept us from hiking and this cabin fit the bill perfectly. The one rainy day was very enjoyable with the gas stove to keep things comfy. Having internet access and good cell phone signal helped us enjoy the seclusion without feeling isolated so we could relax knowing family could reach us if needed. This has been such a challenging year, and this cabin was the perfect place to find respite and recharge. Even the dog relaxed and had a great time! Maintaining this property is obviously a labor of love for the owners and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful cabin with a really great view. Sunrise lights up the porch. We really enjoyed the fire pit. The cabin was also extremely clean.

This is such a fabulous vacation rental! Incredible, scenic location that was so close to some of the best hiking trails in the Adirondacks. The property itself has everything you need and was immaculately clean! The views all around the yard were amazing with lots of room to play around with our dog. The cabin was so well appointed and cozy. The owner Shaye couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful, and friendly! We will definitely rent this property again as it totally exceeded our expectations! Thank you Shaye for your wonderful hospitality!

It was absolutely perfect. The location is amazing for Lake Placid and Saranac. The drive anywhere is a fun, winding fall like road. The neighbors if any are just far enough away you cant hear them. And the cabin is everything we hoped for! It more than exceeded our expectations!

Great location -close to several high peaks. Nice view from backyard. Welcoming and cozy with plenty of space. Very friendly homeowners. Loved our stay!

This cabin was perfect for 4 adults and our 2 dogs! The only thing I want to warn people of is that the driveway to get to the cabin is quite steep so you will want a 4WD vehicle. Other than that the cabin had absolutely everything we needed, it was cozy, had room for our things, cute fire pit outside with wood on site you can buy, and space for the dogs to run.

The property is beautiful and puts you in the heart of the high peaks area. We went with a group of five, and had such a memorable experience.

Random Scoots is a comfortable, clean, and well stocked cabin. The property is lovely and well maintained. A private mountain getaway with views. Close to many trail heads. It’s just what we go to the Adirondacks for. I hope we will visit again next year.

The cabin really feels like a home away from home with everything we could need. There were even some games around that helped keep our toddler occupied evenings and rainy days. Shaye even anticipated us needing more gas for the grill. The cabin is also in a good location for accessing a number of outdoor adventures and just down the road from the best restaurant we tried in the area.
