The deck looks over Goose Creek and you can see dawn and sundown. Just an amazing place to wake up. The layout of this totally updated cottage was perfect with master on the main floor. The chefs kitchen was fantastic . We spent a month and we’re very happy. Daniel is a terrific host and responded to any question quickly .

What a great house! It had everything we needed and more. Most crucial was the great access to goose creek right out the back door. Our family would swim, kayak, paddle, fish, etc, all day, every day. The interior was also lovely with a substantial master bedroom. It was perfect for my elderly parents who have trouble with stairs and they loved all of the master bedroom amenities. The upstairs bedroom were fine, if nothing special, for my wife and I and both kids. I will happily recommend this house to friends (i did already!) and would definitely return next summer. Dan was easy to work with and despite some early issues with the smoke alarms, our stay was awesome.

BEWARE!!! We expected a hygienic house, especially with the pandemic, but found a house not sanitized. Cleaning supplies were left in the living room, a cat "pooper scooper" on the floor of the main bedroom, cat litter in the bathroom, and cat toys scattered across the house. The most egregious concern was a foul odor from a bathroom off the kitchen. It was evident a cat had been kept in the bathroom, and the smell was overwhelming. More importantly, the odor of cat urine permeated the kitchen and dining area. When we mentioned this problem to our host, he told us the house had been professionally cleaned, although we doubted it. And when he did, finally, agree to send a cleaning crew to address the problem, one worker gave us a puzzled look when we said the host assured us the house was cleaned by her the previous week. She admitted she had not been there. The host even told us, previously, he had been in the rental the prior week. It's evident what actually occurred. Instead of having the house professionally cleaned, he attempted to clean it and did a sloppy job, evidenced by the exposed cleaning supplies, the cat "pooper scooper,” cat litter, and various cat toys. Obviously, we were not told the truth about the professional cleaning process. Dirty, streaked windows and cobwebs attested to this fact. While the host had a crew attempt to eliminate the cat urine odor, it was present our entire visit. Bleach helped mask the smell for a few hours, but the odor soon returned, despite the cleaning crew's best efforts. In the end, we could not use the bathroom off the kitchen, although the odor lingered. This made our trip miserable. Also, worth noting, the furniture in the living and dining rooms the host provides on the website is NOT what’s in the house. A sofa, two chairs, and a dining table have been curiously removed and replaced with cheaper furniture, but you wouldn't know it from the photos. On another note, wooden steps outside, leading to the dock, are a hazard. Neglect has caused them to be dangerously insecure -- an accident waiting to happen. Finally, the host did not get in touch with us the last 10 days of our stay, despite a powerful storm wreaking havoc in the area. We were left without any instructions, concerning our departure. Sadly, we would warn prospective renters to avoid this house. While the house is charming and Goose Creek lovely, it’s not worth the anguish of dealing with an uncooperative and untruthful host.

I nearly hesitated to review this because we want to keep this special spot all to ourselves. The house was excellent - clean and fully stocked with all necessities, and more! The view and outdoor space can't be beat - the photos online do not do it justice. Despite all the great nearby restaurants, we actually preferred to cook and eat outside it was so beautiful. The small beach, full of crabs and critters, was terrific for the kids to play in and the water was shallow and safe. You're also a quick drive from our favorite Goose Creek Beach, but we often preferred to kayak, its so close. Daniel was such a generous and timely host, and truly cared that we have a positive experience. Looking forward to coming back.

We absolutely loved our month of relaxation on Oak Ave! The setting is superb, the house is really lovely, comfortable, with a terrific kitchen and has a really unrivaled spot on Goose Creek. Sunsets in the kayak shared with swans and the occasional surfacing fish will be an indelible summer memory. Super quiet, and yet very friendly neighborhood where we were made to feel entirely at home. You could spend all day in the garden and hear nothing but the birds chirping overhead. Oh and a vegetable garden that is the gift that keeps giving. Dan was a fantastic host, super friendly and a great communicator, and basically obsessed over making our stay just perfect. Can’t wait to return!
