About this house rental

For existing reviews look at property 1997226 which is the same property, we have just reduced the interior space to accommodate smaller groups during off peak times. The bright and cheery bungalow contains 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms each with queen-sized beds and 1 bedroom consisting of one double and one twin bed). There’s a fully-equipped kitchen and pantry (pots, pans, silverware, 30 cup coffee maker, two 4 slice toasters, plates, cups, etc). The indoor dining area has seating for everyone. Bathroom with walk-in shower. Bedroom, bath and kitchen linens are included but please bring your own swimming towels. For indoor entertainment there is a flat screen TV with satellite in the main living area, along with a games table (hutch contains a large selection of board games, books, puzzles, and DVDs), air hockey table and arcade game (with over 60 fun games such as pacman, frogger, donkey kong, ...). There is a large private outdoor deck (50’x10’) with BBQ (propane included), tables & chairs, and lounge chairs with great views of the water. There is also an abundance of wild life and often times just looking towards the water you will spot bald eagles soaring, trumpeter swans flying past (wing span can be as large as 10 ft!), herons grazing, deer having a drink from the water’s edge, loons calling, …. Additional outdoor areas include picnic tables, bonfire pit, horseshoe pits and ladderball. Full and unrestricted access down to the water via a large shared dock that can accommodate several types of boats. The depth at the end of the dock is a minimum of 8’ at all times (there is a free public boat launch close by). A Paddle Board, Kayak and Canoe are also available for exploration. There is plenty of parking for vehicles, boat trailers, etc (please let us know during the booking process if you plan to bring a boat). There is also a swimming ladder off the dock and a swim platform so everyone can jump in and cool off. White Fish Lake is on a chain of beautiful lakes, rivers and locks (otherwise known as the Rideau Canal) extending over 200 kms from Kingston to Ottawa. This property is located approximately 90 minutes from Ottawa, 30 minutes north of Kingston, 30 minutes from the Canadian/US border (Thousand Islands Bridge) and 2 1/2 hours from Toronto. White Fish Lake is one of the largest lakes available for exploration and enjoyment between locks. It has great fishing for Large and Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Bluegill, Catfish, Perch and Sunfish. Area highlights include 2 sandy walk in beaches with play structures, picnic tables, both within a 10 minute drive, historic Kingston with Old Fort Henry, Rock Dunder Trail (highest point in Ontario and is also a great swimming and rock jumping spot when accessed via the water – 10 min boat ride) , Westport with many artisanal shops and restaurants and hiking trails. There are also several golf courses close by. The locks at Jones Falls has boats of all shapes and sizes transported up and down four levels (at 58.4 feet this is the highest lift of any lock station on the Rideau), there’s also a visitors center, lockmaster house, and great Stone Arch Dam to visit, with multiple places to picnic, swim and fish. Security cameras in use in the driveway and parking areas. No audio. Please note that this property is strictly an animal-free zone due to severe allergies persisting in the family.

Great family cottage accessible by boat from Kingston or Smiths Falls / Ottawa. We arrived by boat from Kingston and had great contact with our host who greeted us at the dock. There is a longish set of stairs going up to the cottage so just a watch out - go easy on heavy gear :) Great games, decks and ammenites!
