Cocoonr is offering this charming 110 m² flat for rent, which can accommodate up to 4 guests. Situated on the 4th floor (no lift) of a stone-built block constructed in 1894, in a lively, working-class neighbourhood, the flat comprises a living room, a separate kitchen, two large bedrooms, two bathrooms and a 10 m² balcony running the length of the flat. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included – we’re just waiting for you!
The flat is laid out as follows:
- A large, light-filled living room with a sofa, flat-screen TV and dining table
- A separate, fully equipped kitchen: fridge, gas hob, microwave and conventional oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and a wide range of kitchen utensils
- Two large bedrooms with double beds (140)
- Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with either a walk-in shower or a bath
- Separate toilet
The flat is ideally situated in the very heart of Bordeaux, between the St Pierre and St Michel neighbourhoods, so you’ll be able to enjoy the nearby shops and restaurants.
Transport:
If you choose to come by car, you can park in the ‘Le Victor Hugo’ public pay-and-display car park, 300 metres from the property.
Other transport options:
- “Place de Bourgogne” tram stops right outside the flat
- Bike-share scheme: Vcub station 50 metres away (https://www.vcub.fr/stations/plan) €1.60 for 24 hours.
- Nearest railway station: Bordeaux Saint-Jean station, 10 minutes’ drive away

A bit of history!
The Porte de Bourgogne is situated at the end of the former Salinières moats, now known as Cours Victor-Hugo (formerly Rue des Fossés), on the site of the former medieval Porte des Salinières. It marks the official entrance to the city on the old road leading to Paris. Tourny wanted it to complement the Place Royale (now the Place de la Bourse) and dedicated it to His Highness the Duke of Burgundy on 24 January 1757.
For a time, it was known as the Porte Napoléon to commemorate the Emperor’s visit to Bordeaux in 1808.

The apartment was great, very spacious. Felt safe walking the streets during the day however there was frequent police presence across the street due to drug activity. Despite this we were never approached or pestered by those involved. In fact they seemed respectful of tourists. Renters need to be aware of the 4 flights of stairs to get to the apartment. All said and done we would stay here again.

Le Victor Cool pad close to everything you need. Train, river, restaurants, and church’s all close by. Beautiful view from the balcony!

Nice big place and well located. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking. apparatus. However we were not prepared for it to be on the 4th floor with no elevator. There was a lot of street noise. Inside was clean, outside on the balcony and the stairwell were filthy. There was one separate toilet with no sink.
