Breakfast was great. Location easy walk to town and ferry. Common area very friendly and good place to interact with other travelers. Manager very helpful. The AC worked great and the pool was an unexpected bonus. The decor is inspiring too. For me it was a little like being in a nice hostel with a private room.
Well, my room was small, which I kind of expected, but it could have had some more shelves and hooks to be able to unpack a little bit. Also the (shared) shower for my room didn't have hot water that I could see, and the cold was a bit on the chilly side for me...but I wouldn't call it a huge problem since it was super hot outside all the time.

The breakfast was lovely. It was basic but fresh. Fruit, salads, cold meat, baguette, pastries and eggs for you to boil. You could make your own coffee or tea. Nicholas, the manager was very surprised to see us as we arrived thru the night and couldn't find anyone there and only 1 light so when they woke in the morning they found 2 women asleep on the deck chairs. Nicholas finally warmed to us and came into the city for dinner with us and another night he hopped on his scooter and went and got us chinese food as we'd been on a day tour and too tired to go and get dinner ourselves. Nicholas was happy to chat with us and as we were 2 60+ women we treated him like a son. It had air conditioning and Nicholas got the television onto English for us which was great.
The outdoor furniture needed an update or paint. The pool needed some work around the edges and a good clean on the sides. The pool guy came whilst we were there but he needs to get in the water and give it a good scrub. The grass needs a mow.

I ve booked about a 100 hotels through Booking.com, i can fairly say that Fare Rae rae ranks in top 10 list. Nicolas and Heirui(such a sweetheart)will do their best to make yourself at home. Definitely my go-to place in Tahiti! Oh and the 2 adorable cats made my stay even more enjoyable.
Nothing.

The room was furnished beautifully and was comfortable, particularly liked my private garden with all the facilities. Nicolas is a very kind, friendly and helpful host. It is in a great location, within walking distance to Papeete centre
Not much really. I found the room a little noisy, though that was possibly the fault of the other guests being too raucous.

Very friendly and caring hosts, funny cats, nice breakfasts in the mornings, convenient location
The single room feels very basic, if that is important to you

Small, clean, nicely appointed B&B style 8 room hotel. Reasonably priced. Hosts tried to
Be nice. Free French-style continental breakfast.
With one exception, none of the hosts spoke any English. It would have been a disaster if not for “Popo” an LA- born indigene who we met on the first day. She was great and we ended up
Hiring her for a private tour of the island on day 2.

Excellent housekeeping lady: friendly, efficient, helpful.
The place has lots of atmosphere. Lots of interaction between clients thanks to the communal kitchen.
Quirky design.
The noisy thru road - day and night.

Central Papeete was 15 walking from Fare Rearea. Room spacious and clean and had a private garden to eat in. Breakfast was provided with variety. Perhaps closer to normal Papeete living than more expensive downtown hotels.
Room was too dark need more light

Breakfast was very nice. Nicholas the host was very helpful and kind. Loved the pool. Enjoyed meeting the other guests.
Bed a little hard but thats OK.

Fare Rea Rea was such an amazing place to start our trip to French Polynesia. The property and our room (the Anuanua loft) were spotlessly clean, and the staff, especially Reva and Nick were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast in the common area was a fun way to meet other travelers, and the pool was lovely. The friendly little cat on the property, Grignotte, was just one more reason our stay was perfect. We loved this property.

Room was great , pool was good.
quite a walk to town

Pretty good breakfast, friendly staff- when they were there, which was not often,
Nice pool to gather around.
Good refrigerator, ice and water.
Very noisy, room had screens but with no windows or glass to reduce significant street noise.
Small bed-less than a twin size. Mattress not the best.
Poor light to read.
Would not recommend this single room.

The clever and artistic touches all around the property. Someone here has a extraordinary eye for elevating the simplest objects, often an item that has been discarded as rubbish, and turning it into a useful and whimsical piece. We didn't have much time to explore the immediate neighborhood, but the location is a quick drive into the center of town and easy to the airport. The pool was refreshing and our room was huge with an outdoor kitchen and bathroom, and nice outdoor seating area which was pleasant and very nicely decorated and planted.
We arrived on a Saturday night so the road outside was noisy.

This accomodation is quite good for my plan. Actually I just slepp there, have the great breakfast and pool. After my busy day I enjoyed the cool water in the pool and rest et the edge of the pool.
The street was very noisy unfortunately but I could sleep well.

we stayed 2 nights in the suite and 1 night in the yellow room and liked both. There is a great common area and the pool is nice for a chilled afternoon. It is a 15 minutes walk from the market and city center and there are ATM, grocery store and a small restaurant near by.
The hosts are very welcoming and will help if any questions, also in english. We enjoyed it here a lot.
You have to be early at breakfast. We came at 9am one day and there were only a little left so keep that mind. Other than that nothing 😊

Great breakfast with fresh local food and the company of the guests. The open kitchen, facing the garden and the big swimming pool, makes your homemade meals pleasant. Hosts very nice, helpful and always available (plus a cute cat).
The room was a bit small and very humid (but it was a rainy day). The shared bathroom is large and comfy, but more cleaning would not disturb.

A perfect little oasis. we really enjoyed our time here and made good use of the pool. The breakfast was lovely and we particularly enjoyed the homemade jams and vanilla yogurt flavoured with vanilla from the garden. The two little resident cats adopted us for our stay and we loved that.
A lot of road noise but this could be dimmed down at night with the fan and aircon.

Friendly and could not do enough to make sure I felt welcome. Customer service as it really should be. The room was stunning with my own garden and even a friendly cat to keep me company

We thought the property was excellent! The attention to detail was outstanding. It was creatively and quirkily decorated. Luc our host went above and beyond along with his neighbour to help us with a problem. This was so kind and supportive. We cannot thank them enough.
The breakfast was simple and delicious.
His efforts to be as environmental as possible were creatively and sensitively done. The pool was lovely and clean as was the kitchen area. The gardens were beautiful. Luc was very knowledgable, and helpful. He obviously loved his job and was passionate about his country.
A Big thank you Luc.
A bit of a walk to town but doable.

Good location somewhat close to the downtown area. The host Luc was Gold in helping us and enjoyable to talk to. He will take care of you. Breakfast is fairly good with fruits, homemade yogurt, breads and meats.
It is a bit "rustic" I have to say the main issue with our room (Prune room) was that it was close to the busy and noisy intersection. But earplugs helped keep the noise down.
Air conditioner was just able to keep up with the heat and humidity.

Accommodation in Papeete is very expensive. Our room was fine/clean but we had shared bathroom
Didn't realise it was a shared bathroom - maybe my fault with booking

Everything! Easy to find and access, walking distance from downtown, cute and comfortable ensuite room with private courtyard, clean
facilities, good value breakfast, exceptionally friendly and helpful management team, nice meeting and chatting with the other guests from around the world.
Nothing! although as I’m saying in other reviews of accommodations in French Polynesia, insect screens would just make the stay even more comfortable (perhaps they’re just not the norm?)

Food shop nearby, great pool, kitchen and breakfast.
Next to a noisy busy road

This is an unusual place. It is located not far from the centre of Papeete - certainly walkable. The Fare has a swimming pool around which everything revolves. Adjacent to it are a lounge (indoor) and a dining area (outside but covered). There is a variety of accommodation available. I shared toilet and shower room. Fittings use local materials such as a tin can lamp, coconut shell taps and upside down bottles to mark path edges. Owner very helpful - would do lifts early in morning etc. Good and varied breakfast. Functioning wi-fi. I stayed here several times. One can park outside.
My room was small - but not a problem as I didn't do much in it other than sleep. Larger rooms are available. It was necessary to apply insect repellent before breakfast - or one suffered!

The relaxing atmosphere of a well keep hostel in Papeete.
Great staff…
Great breakfast.
Very clean.
Just what my daughter and I need after a busy week cruising in the French Polinésias, plus a shopping time at the end of our Holliday.

This is a beautiful place that offers wonderful value for the price! Nour (filling in for the owners) was such a wonderful host. We felt welcomed and so well cared for throughout our short stay. When they found out we were leaving early on the final morning, well before breakfast, Nour prepared us breakfast in the fridge so we could have it before we left! Above and beyond!
Nothing for us. We know this isn’t a five star hotel, and is instead a guesthouse. We felt welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay at this special place.

It's a nice little Oasis in the city. Neighborhood is not the greatest, but safe to walk around. Pool is a nice feature. We had the deluxe room with outdoor area and kitchen that was private and pleasant. A good spot for a night or 2 between flights or excursions.
Unkempt parking area. It isn't clean or welcoming, but once you enter the gate it's nice.

There was absolutely nothing to like about this hostel. However, the lady of the house was very lovely and even drove us to our cruise ship when we left.
This is not a hotel - it is a hostel / homestay with several letting rooms.
We had to share a bathroom with 4 other rooms.
In theory, breakfast was served 7.30-9am, but in practice if you had not arrived by 7.50, you would get nothing, as we discovered.
Breakfast is served outdoors under just a rain cover. This also means your food will have been populated by flies before you get to it. They do use plastic covers, but when I opened one with cold meat in it, 2 flies flew out, as if desperate to escape!
The strangest thing was the tea towel we were given with our towels and a note that this was to dry our dishes! I have never stayed anywhere that I had to wash and dry my own dishes, but that is the case at this hostel - each guest has to take turns at the single sink to wash and dry their dishes after breakfast.
The owner, who initially seemed convivial, made an insulting remark to another guest about my wife, thinking that because he made it in French, she would not know. She told him in French that she heard his insult and he just laughed and shrugged his shoulders.
The room was absolutely tiny, with just enough room to walk around the bed. There was no other furniture in the room except a rack to hang clothes.
The house was a long way out of town on an unlit road with no pavement. There were no shops or cafés nearby and the hostel serves only breakfast, making it very difficult to get an evening meal.
There was a huge cockroach in the bathroom, but perhaps this is to be expected in the location.
There was nowhere secure to leave luggage after the checkout time, but we could not wait to leave anyway.

The owners, a married couple, Luc and Laurence, understand hospitality. It was a true treat to stay in the small, intimate oasis, hidden behind a door and a hedge complete with a pool. We stayed in the Anqanqa room, which was a large space with its own adjoining garden, and well equipped kitchen area, all thoughtfully designed to create an incredible casual bohemian and Tahitian feel. It is an easy 10 minute walk through safe streets to Central Pepeete. It is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for affordable, clean and friendly accommodation with yummy yummy breakfast included. The supermarket is located an easy 2 to 3 minute walk away. We highly recommend this accommodation, and would definitely stay again when returning!!
