About this house rental
Nestled in Cedar Key, this lovely house for $233 per night is a great choice for your next break. Seafoam Cottage vacation rental house is a two bedroom, two bath home on historic Second Street in Cedar Key, Florida. Seafoam was constructed in the 1880's and is rich in Cedar Key history. The new owners have remodeled, added on and refurnished it in a happy island style. You'll find a comfortable living room with large sectional couch. Perfect for friends and family commiseration. WiFi is provided and we have a Smart TV without satellite. The house has central heat and air. The Master Bedroom has a comfortable Queen bed and the guest bedroom has bunk beds with a full size bed on the bottom and a and twin on top. Two bathrooms, the master has a tile shower and the guest bathroom has a clawfoot tub shower combo. Kitchen is fully furnished and has dining for 4-6. The backsplash is a work of art in itself. It is a one of a kind handcrafted seaside themed creation of the owner. Everything is supplied here for cooking and dining. The back yard is private and has a fire pit and wooden Adirondack chairs. It is beautifully planted with tropical plants. The front porch is cool and comfortable and faces 2nd Street with a giant Live Oak tree nearby. Just two doors from Seafoam is Tony’s Seafood Restaurant and the coffee shop, The Daily Grind and 1842 Mercantile. You can almost smell the aroma of coffee brewing when you step onto the front porch in the morning. There is a parking space off the street for one vehicle at Seafoam. Other parking is street side and is first come first served. ****All new updates since the hurricane of '23- check back soon for new photos.***** The convenient location of Seafoam cannot be overstated. You can literally walk to every restaurant, shop, attraction, beach, golf cart rental, kayak rental & boat rental. And we now have two cool island cruiser bikes waiting for you when you arrive. Tour the entire town and island on these bikes . You'll be stylin'! You simply do not need to get back into your vehicle at all while you're staying in the Seafoam Cottage. -Please be respectful of the neighbors and the area you are staying -Do not trespass on other people's property, this includes docks and driveways -Please be careful where you park, don't block people in, use neighbors property, park on the sidewalk or impede traffic -Parties and/or events are not allowed -No smoking inside or within 10 feet of doors or windows $250 fine if the property smells of smoke -Unauthorized pets will result in a $250 fine for each animal -$150/person/day fee for over occupancy limit -Please don’t eat or drink anything besides water in the bedroom -Quiet hours 10 pm to 7 am per local Noise Ordinance -Please respect the check-in and check-out times. $500 for each 4 hours, or portion unauthorized thereof, of early check-in and late checkout. -Guests are responsible for any damage they cause. If something does happen contact us ASAP and we will see if there’s a way to quickly take care of the issue before it gets worse and costs more. -Please don’t rearrange the furniture. -Please do your dishes. -No illegal substances allowed on premises. - Primary renter must be at least 25 years old or active military. - ESA and service animals require documentation and adherence to our policies. - Do not set the AC below 72° or heat above 78°. - If there are kayaks or bikes included in the rental, use these responsibly, following all Florida regulations. Not all units under management include kayaks or bikes, please reference the listing to see included amenities. You confirm you are trained in the use of kayaks and bicycles. You are responsible for any damages or injuries resulting from their use.

The property was amazing. The people around us were very friendly and welcoming. And we had such a great time. Sitting on the front porch was the best.

Yes it was hot outside but the key is quite breezy which mitigates the heat. There were some mosquitoes outside the house, which are common in Florida, but not noticeable in other parts of the key. Loved the fenced in yard for our dog. Very convenient to everything, Prickly Palm maybe 50 steps for breakfast, coffee. Everywhere to eat is within walking distance and there are many. Folks there don’t pay much attention to social media so don’t count on the open/close hours you google being accurate, it depends on the crowd and the availability of wait staff, call to verify. This is a small fishing village at heart, not a beach resort.

The upgrades and improvements were impressive and very much appreciated. We did experience a few hiccups early in our stay with the cooling system and the television operation. One problem we encountered was the telephone number for the management company: we used the number on the instructions to report problems but apparently our call didn't get through their answering service to them. Once they were aware of the problems, they sent servicemen out to resolve the issues quickly and efficiently.
One thing we did notice was that the hot water was much too hot (scalding actually).

We spent the weekend celebrating our anniversary and could not have been happier with the cottage! Cottage had everything we needed including firewood! Exceeded expectations across the board and we will defiantly be back!

Was the perfect place for the 4 of us! We rented a golf cart & explored the island & met the friendly locals. Our neighbor was very welcoming too! We loved the laid back pace & now consider this our secret spot. We will definitely stay at this cottage again as it had everything we needed & more & we loved the setup & decor & mostly the location!

My husband and I stayed at the property for two nights. The property was very clean and as shown in the photos. The house is in the perfect location. We walked to anything we needed in town. The bed was very comfortable, and the living room was great for relaxing and watching a show in between our adventures in the area. If you book this property, you will not be disappointed.

Very close to everything in downtown Cedar Key, literally around the corner from shops and restaurants. Everything is within about a ten minute walk. Very neat and tidy house in a quiet neighborhood. What was even better was no list of chores to do when you left! Run the dishwasher, take out the trash, and turn in the keys - very easy!

This cottage was perfect for our family. Nice and clean, washer/dryer, big kitchen. We loved the location to walk to 1842 and Prickly Palm for breakfast. Would stay again for sure!

Very Nice
The backyard was completely closed in and secure so it was safe for both my toddler and dog. This is a rare find for a Cedar Key rental and was the biggest plus. Also, it’s one story which was a plus. Everything was clean and cutely decorated.

Much Needed Relaxing
After a very stressful work week. My friends and I decided to go to our favorite spot for a quick last minute trip. It was much needed and enjoyed every minute. We have stayed at many places in Cedar Key and this is by far one of our favorite homes.

A true gem
Had a great stay at Seafoam. The property was exactly as described. I parked my car on arrival and didn't drive again until departure. The 1842 coffee shop was less than a block away, beach (tiny as it was) was less than a 10 minute walk as well as all the restaurants on Dock Street. The bikes were a nice perk. Enjoyed quite a few rides. Thank you for a lovely week!

HIDDEN GEM 💎
Everything you would want in a rental getaway! House was pleasantly done in a coastal theme. A well stocked kitchen, bedrooms with really comfortable beds and living room made for lounging or games. Backyard was well secured for our fur kids and invited us to enjoy being outdoor with a good degree of privacy given that this house is right in town. The location couldn’t be better! Set back from the road...don’t be fooled by this unassuming looking building, it’s a hidden gem! It had one drawback... a very frustrating, outdated Roku TV system without cable or satellite.
