This apartment had an amazing location for a great value. The balcony overlooked the ocean and the beach was across the street. Very close to the airport but much quieter than Barcelona, this was a great place to end our time in Spain.

The apartment probably could be updated a bit, but considering the location, it was a great value! It had everything we needed.

The sea view

The house had many faults and some of them were actually a matter of health and safety. The main door lock got stuck in several occasions making it impossible to close the main door to the apartment and requiring 2-3 minutes of manipulation. The catch mechanism was old and unkempt. Even the rings that held the 2 sets of keys were broken and keys kept falling as the ring never was a full circle. Ridiculous. That just sets the tone of how much care the owners have for their rental. The electric circuit in the apartment is 60 years at least; as old as the whole building. You can appreciate that the sockets are actually showing signs of burning as the electrical heating panels are plugged to a triple socket that connects to just one socket entry on the wall. It was quite dangerous and kept tripping the fuses every day. In the bathroom it was even more obvious and dangerous as there wasn’t any earth pin so with the humidity of the bathroom, when plugging the hair dryer with wet feet you could get stuck with AC current. They list cleaning products in their list of facilities but they had no soap and an empty bottle of wash up liquid for the dishes. I had to buy “Fairy” in order to do the dishes as well as pink wash up sponges because there were none in the cabinets. The dishes and cutlery in the house were dirty, same as the pans and pots It lists toilet paper in the facilities too but they just left 1 toilet roll for 13 days of stay in an apartment that can accommodate 6 people. Brilliant! No cleaning products, no sponges to clean, cloths, 1 toilet roll… can you appreciate the trend? There is not one knife in the house that cuts. Not even the bread knives do. They are so blunt after so much use we couldn’t prepare food properly. The wooden pulling knobs for the drawers in the kitchen were falling apart, especially the one for the cutlery so we had to put all the cutlery in a container in the Benchtops.

Great location, by the beach and restaurants. Castelldefels is wonderful place if you want to relax and enjoy good restaurants. We will definitely go again.
