THE SPACE This 400sf Beach Front Unit features: - 2 Double beds; - Balcony w/ beach view; - TV w/ premium channels; - Wifi; - Mini-Fridge, Microwave, and Coffee Maker; - Rollaway bed for 5th person is $20 per roll-away/night plus 7% tax, based upon availability, maximum of one rollaway per room; - Towels, sheets, and linen are provided - you don't need to bring a thing! Housekeeping is available every 3 days, and there is also a coin operated laundry in the building. Whether you're here to explore the attractions of St.Pete Beach or to enjoy a carefree vacation by the ocean, this beach-side rental is in the perfect location for your getaway. THE PROPERTY Our resort provides the following on-site amenities: - Direct beach access; - Large swimming pool; - 24/7 Front desk and Security; - Loungers, umbrellas, and towels by the pool (not at the beach); - Beachside Tiki-Bar; - Coin-operated laundry in the building; - Free self-parking is included in the resort fee for 1 vehicle per room. Additional vehicles are charged $20 per day plus 7% tax (tax subject to change without notice) and will be collected upon check-in via the credit card authorization. ATTENTION: The resort fee is not included in the daily rate. A MANDATORY RESORT FEE OF $50/DAY/UNIT PLUS TAX WILL BE COLLECTED UPON ARRIVAL. PLEASE NOTE: - Upgrade to Beachfront Unit and Pool View Unit are available for an additional fee. - Hotel rooms and indoor public areas are 100% smoke free. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only. Fine hotel, bad VRBO listing
They do not make it clear that this room may not be the oceanside 1st floor room they advertise. It could be any floor oceanside. It is FCFS on who gets the 1st floor room, but the VRBO ad doesn't specify this. I had to call hotel to learn this information. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again, but would probably book directly through hotel.

The location of this resort is great, and as the other reviews say it is dated and that was OK with me. What wasn't OK is that some of the things are breaking down... Our shower switch was broken and for the first two days we couldn't get hot water to work. Maintenance came and showed us how to use it, but it broke again a day later... The sliding door lock also was broken, but it had a bar to lock it in place, so it was OK.
Good things --- location is great and beach is great. Across the street is a grocery store and a wonderful restaurant called Bueno (get the sangria).
Staff was good at the hotel and responded to us. They even told us about the upstairs bathroom where we could change before getting back on the plane after checking out.
Not so great -- the beach bar's frozen drinks are not frozen, food comes in take out containers. I wouldn't recommend
Poor -- Besides the crappy shower switch, the room smelled and had mold. My friend coughed at night.
We had a good stay, but I probably won't book it again for those reasons...

Staff at the hotel was very nice. Room was clean and the view was as advertised. Perfect location and great access to the beach. Dolphin does need a makeover and some updating but ultimately, if you're looking for a great view and hotel right on the beach this is a perfect location.

Dolphin Beach Resort
Staff at the hotel was very nice. Room was clean and the view was as advertised. Perfect location and great access to the beach. Dolphin does need a makeover and some updating but ultimately, if you're looking for a great view and hotel right on the beach this is a perfect location.

My first time staying here and it was awesome , checkin smooth and so nice and helpful , cleaning lady was so very nice and helpful , good luck with your new baby ! Maintance man could of not been nicer when I had trouble with tv(I pushed the wrong button twice ) pool nice and warm , breakfast was wonderful ! And lunches at tiki bar were great thanks Ken ! We will be back next year ! Loved it

My first time staying here and it was awesome , checkin smooth and so nice and helpful , cleaning lady was so very nice and helpful , good luck with your new baby ! For the first three days our water smelled like rotten eggs. You couldn’t drink or wash with it. I reported it and they tried to fix it but still had the smell. We also had ants all over our counter. Got into our food and had to be trashed.

To start this is a 3rd party rental. The pictures on this listing are not accurate. The picture on the listing shows direct access to the beach from the room thats only possible if it's available. If you are lucky you can get a room with ocean view if not it will be facing the parking lot (which is not pretty) or the pool view. The interior of the building is old and smells funny. The room looked clean but the a/c vents were extremely dirty. The bathroom was very cleaned but the headshower was leaking all night. On the 2nd night we found a big roach in our room. The food at the tiki bar is not good. The TV was not working properly. We couldnt use it. The wifi signal is really bad. We were supposed to stay 3 days but we left on the 2nd day because our stay was not pleasant at all.
By the way the receptionist said sometimes is cheaper to rent directly with the resort and not using a 3rd party.
Unfortunately our experience at this place was not what we expected.

I have stayed at this hotel before, in a different room. I booked through VRBO to ensure I had a room with direct access from the room to the beach. I messaged and requested verification that my booking had direct access to the beach from the room, as shown in many of the pictures. I was told YES! I was unable to make this trip and messaged to determine that my friend could take over my booking if I was unable to attend. (My friend completed this review with me) I would say that it was nice that they had no issue with this, however this booking was more expensive than the other booking they had at the hotel and they only took it over for the direct beach access. They ended up on the third floor of the hotel - so more money for nothing. Were there other issues with the ad for this property...Absolutely. The ad listed Queen Beds and the room had doubles. The listing also stated that housekeeping was daily, it was not. Housekeeping was only every 3 days. All in all, this was an experience I would not want to repeat, and do not wish on anyone else.

There are no words to describe the totally relaxing feeling that overcame me once I reached this resort. No doubt, I want to have the resort consider me part of their family as I want to keep returning ! Thank you one and all for one terrific and memorable time away.

The room was clean but we had to pay someone to restock towels after a couple of days stayed. The breakfast was absolutely great, way better than IHOP and it came to our table fast. All in all- we recommend this resort for a few day stay. The beach location is great.
