At the end of the day, enjoy the night sky the way it was intended, without any light pollution! If you’re looking for a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, you’ve found the right place. A shared dock gives full access to this serene no wake cove for swimming, paddleboarding, and docking your boat, so you can enjoy all the lake has to offer. Our pet friendly atmosphere allows you to enjoy this setting without having to leave your canine family members behind. Within a 30 minute drive, Smith Mountain Lake offers access to horseback riding, golf, hiking trails, and wineries. The nearby state park includes a small beach for younger visitors. This is Virginia's most popular lake and is a fisherman's paradise, with over 500 miles of shoreline on this 40-mile long, 20,000 acre lake stocked with bass, muskies, northern pike and panfish. High-speed internet allows for viewing movies and shows from your own streaming accounts and the occasional remote work if absolutely necessary. This two-bedroom, one bath cabin has a fully stocked kitchen and a charcoal grill for use on the full length deck. A common dock is shared with neighbors in Cabin 1. A dedicated parking spot is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Smoke-free property. Central air conditioning and heat, ceiling fans throughout. Everything about this stay was excellent. Ken and Cindy were always prompt to send responses. They even accomodated early entry for us on the day of check-in. The location of the cabin cannot be any better. I was especially impressed by the attention to detail that the owners have in stocking up anything and everything that one might need during their stay - from board games to utensils to even a tick-bite kit! They even had 2 kayaks. We did not use those because of the winter though. The rooms were adequately kept warm, mattresses were good, bathroom was in excellent condition. Overall, it couldn't have been better. We will definitely go back again.

Cedar Key Cabin #2 was the perfect getaway for my husband and me. The location is beautiful and so peaceful. It was nice to look across the lake and have a complete view of nature (no houses). The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. There was no need to leave. We actually decided to stay in and cook all meals there. That is a first for us. We usually eat out. The hosts were very responsive, kind and accommodating. They allowed us to change our dates last minute due to a family emergency. We have stayed in several nice homes at SML, but this one was perfect for us and is by far a favorite. We definitely plan to return.

Magical place to visit during the fall! The deck has the most amazing views of the lake and is the perfect spot for morning yoga! Cabin felt inviting and cozy. Everything was perfect!! Thank you to the hosts for providing such a lovely property!

Lovely cabin for a fall weekend or a summer vacation week. Very clean, well outfitted for cooking and a beautiful view. We didn't bring the dogs this time but it would be ideal for dogs with its enclosed deck. Comfortable beds and furniture as well.

The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. Beautiful and peaceful lake. I enjoyed watching the squirrels and saw a few deer. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone just looking to get away for some peace and quiet. I’m hoping to go back soon and bring my puppies. Very pet friendly atmosphere.

We enjoyed a great long weekend at Ken and Cindy’s cabin. The views of the lake from the porch are breathtaking, as are the stars at night. The lake is very calm, allowing us to have peaceful kayak and paddle board excursions. The cabin is not big, but it was perfect for me and my husband. The kitchen is perfectly outfitted with everything you need to prepare meals- even a crock pot and casserole dishes! Ken and Cindy were excellent hosts and provided almost instant answers to all our questions. We loved that kayaks were provided and our dog was welcome.

This is the perfect cottage on the lake! Exactly what is described by owner. Nice lake access with dock. Lovely big deck that overlooks the lake. And totally dog friendly. Cabin was well stocked with essentials. Beds were very comfortable. Air kept us nice and cool. Area was quiet even with neighbors close by. Nice access to winery’s. We will be booking again for next year. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. We had a great time.

The main room gets lots of natural light, and the whole cabin is very cozy and tidy. The kitchen is small, but well equipped, and we just used the outdoor grill most nights anyway.

From the moment we did our reservation for this cabin the hosts were very communicative and helpful. It’s a beautiful area, the cabin is clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Our host thought everything to make us feel comfortable ( also our dog ). Beds, couches, patio furniture are all very comfortable. Kitchen is fully functional and they even had canoes for us. We will return this magical place .Thank you .

Great little cabin with amazing views, nice deck and well appointed!! Careful when making the bed in the master, if the comforter is over the corner you will bang your leg and trust me it hurts LOL. Tuck it in so you can see the corner of the bed.

The cabin has beautiful views of the lake, which you can enjoy on the huge balcony. The area is rural and remote, so the stars we very visible at night. I wish we brought our telescope. The cabin itself was cozy and clean, and the owners stocked it with everything you might need for a few days at Smith Mountain Lake.

We had a great time at the cabin! The location is wonderful, the view was so amazing and the cabin itself was lovely. It had everything one could need including stuff for our dog - bowls, treats, leash, poop bags! We had a wonderful stay and definitely would like to go back for another visit!! Thank you!!

These cabins are older but so much character! Cannot beat the fabulous view of the lake. It’s so relaxing to be cozied up there. It has all the basic amenities, very comfortable and well equipped. Our only issue was being bombarded by acorns! It was entertaining and I’m sure the deer are happy
