Those visiting outside of the winter months will be a 28-mile drive through “The Notch” from the quaint town of Stowe, where you can explore the grounds of the famous Von Trapp Family Lodge, tee it up at Stowe Country Club, and take in the views at Stowe Mountain Resort. (Stowe Mountain Resort is only 4.5 miles away in the summer and fall, but once snow hits, Route 108 is closed until the snow melts in spring. When Route 108 is closed, the drive to Stowe is 45 minutes to an hour.)
