Situated in Lake Buchanan, this charming house for $350 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. The Space This remodeled 3-bedroom 3 bath oasis could not be more perfect. The cottage was built in 1951, but totally remodeled in 2012, with loving attention paid to every detail. You are ideally located an hour from the bustling city Austin, Texas. The cottage is made equally appropriate for families as it is for a romantic getaway. As you enter the cottage, you’ll be welcomed by an open floor plan from the kitchen to the dining room to the family room where your gaze meets the tranquil beauty of Inks Lake. We have everything you need: fully loaded kitchen with secondary fridge, two dining tables indoors and more outdoors, linens, propane and charcoal grills, fire pit and more. There is a large flat screened television and DVR (with NO service of any kind). You’ll be wrapped in a private, quiet oasis, unlike any other lakefront in Texas and includes a spectacular lawn leading to the lake, year-round bird watching from our rock patio; fishing from our dock is usually busy and successful; and two kayaks to explore the open water. If you want to stretch out and read; cook up a delicious meal; sit at your computer and do work in your pajamas, it’s all there, only with more Zen. The lack of restaurants and bars on the water’s edge keeps the lake cleaner, quieter, and more private than the rest of the Highland Lakes chain. This is exactly why it is the favorite of so many people, there is a genuine charm at Inks that you don’t find elsewhere. We are driving distance from San Antonio, Austin, Llano, and Fredericksburg, all easy daytrips. Whether you are looking for a quiet place to swim, renting a boat or cozying up to read a book, this one-of-a-kind, charming cottage is the perfect place for your stay. Nothing beats the lake view at this property! We were very comfortable in the neighborhood and felt quite safe. It is the perfect distance to Inks and Longhorn Cavern State Parks. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Check in was easy peasy. I would definitely stay here again.

We came for my sister-in-laws birthday. It was three sisters and their adult daughters. Upon arrival we thought what a cute vintage cottage but then got hit with tons of gnats. They were even in the ice cube trays. We couldn’t enjoy the beautiful backyard for one, the gnats and two the patio furniture was discussing! Boy oh boy what a little cleaning and pest control would do for this cute little place.

Perfect Getaway
This home is perfectly appointed, super comfortable, roomy and still cozy, with an amazing view and great lake access. It has everything we needed for a respite. Communication with the host was great, and everything was wonderful! We would definitely go back if we ever have to go to TX again.

We really enjoyed the large yard and sitting down by the lake every morning and evening after exploring the area or paddling around. The house was comfortable for two couples traveling together, and the bunk room (we didn't need it) would be great for families. We'd recommend bringing your own chairs for the yard.

The biggest disappointment was that there was no comfortable patio furniture on a lovely patio looking at the lake where we were looking forward to spending most of our time. There was a great hammock chair but it was broken and covered with bird poop. There were cushions for some old rusted patio furniture in a closet which should have been put out for us. There was NO furniture down by the lake to sit on. The dock looked old and in disrepair so we didn’t feel comfortable even walking on it. There were no screens on the windows or sliding glass doors which would have allowed us to enjoy the lovely fresh air which was really needed because the house had a terrible musty smell. There was lots of dust everywhere especially on the shutters. The covers for the beds were uncomfortable as well as the bath towels. The lighting in the bathrooms was horrible. There was laundry in both the washer and dryer upon our arrival. Overall we just did not feel like anyone went to any special effort to make us feel welcome.

We really liked this house. It was clean and well maintained, with plenty of space for our group of seven. The lake view from the big back window is wonderfull. We did some canoeing and kayaking on the lake, went to Hidden Falls Offroad Adventure Park, and drove down to Fredericksburg.

Girlfriends and I stay here for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The house was clean and had some cute updates to it. We particularly enjoyed the large round dining table with space for everyone. The lake views, sunrise & sunset were stunning. We also greatly enjoyed the Tor Na Lochs winery just down the road. The only tweak I would make is a welcome binder for nearby attractions, check out instructions, and emergency info. The house has no wifi/internet and our cell service was spotty. Other than that, it was fantastic!

We had such a great time at this rental and in and around Inks Lake. With only a three nights stay, there seemed to be just enough time to enjoy the property, hike in the state park and see the caverns. The home, yard and boat dock were so comfortable we would have been happy to just hang out and relax there for the entire stay. Things were clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend this rental.

Unplug and relax
We had such a great time at this rental and in and around Inks Lake. With only a three nights stay, there seemed to be just enough time to enjoy the property, hike in the state park and see the caverns. The home, yard and boat dock were so comfortable we would have been happy to just hang out and relax there for the entire stay. Things were clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend this rental.

Just step into the lake
We really enjoyed our stay on Inks Lake. We brought our stand up paddle boards and were able to enter the lake right from the lawn. My husband and I and our 2 kids stayed here for a summer weekend. There were 6 twin beds and 1 full size so there are ample places sleep. Could've easily fit more people. It's an older home but it's been pretty updated/remodeled inside and out. Felt clean and tidy and like new. the backyard is huge and you have lake access right from backyard with a boat dock and stairs that lead into the water for swimming. the house was stocked w games and puzzles and dvds for kids which was a nice surprise. definitely recommend for a cute weekend getaway house on the lake!

Booked through VRBO. Pictures were a good representation. USPS and street addresses were not the same. Caused a little confusion. Would definitely rent again and refer friends.

Gathered for daughter's sweet 16 with family and friends. Cute little house right on lake, which made for easy access for the teens to go swim. Enough space for everyone even though it was a small house (loved the dining room table). Huge backyard and Inks State Park right around the corner. Had everything you could need. Will definitely stay here again. Neighbor was very friendly, which is a huge bonus. Don't forget the bug spray though, mosquitoes are bad, but that's Texas for you. Thank you for sharing your home!
