We absolutely loved our stay at Palm Villa Ishigakijima Yugafu and our time on Ishigaki Island. The villa is located in a peaceful area, just a few minutes’ walk from a beautiful, wild beach.
The villa itself was perfect for us — clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with a great bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen where we found everything we needed to cook our own meals.
The beach is beautiful and feels wonderfully untouched, although the seabed is rocky in places and has sharp coral fragments, so water shoes are essential if you plan to swim.
A little tip for future guests: if you’re planning to enjoy some home-cooked meals at the villa, keep in mind that the nearest supermarket is about a 30-minute drive away. We’d recommend picking up groceries in advance so you can spend less time driving to the shops and more time enjoying your holiday and beautifull surroundings.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful place to enjoy the natural beauty of Ishigaki Island.
Everything was fine, the only downside was the rattan furniture in the living room, which appeared to have been damaged by wood-boring insects. As a result, small bits kept falling off and crumbling onto the floor whenever we sat on it. It would definitely benefit from being replaced or refurbished. We also understand that tatami mats are an important part of Japanese culture and appreciate the traditional touch they bring to the villa. However, for longer stays, having two bedrooms with proper beds and mattresses might be a more comfortable and appealing option, especially for abroad travellers... but that's just our personal opinion :)

近くの展望台から朝日を見に行った。ロケーションが良い。室内は広々していてとてもくつろげた。清潔なところが良い。案内の説明が行き届いている。今度は家族で来たい。
