The A/C was not working when we checked in. The repairman never did show up so we spent a hot stuffy first night as it was 100F. Then a mouse ran a ross the kitchen floor before bed.
We did not stay the second night due to the heat as no one slept. I have asked for a refund for the second night.
Also, yes, great lake view but no access to the lake and no dishwasher! That should be made clear. This is not a bargain rental spot. For this price I expected A/C, lake access and a dishwasher.
Instead I got heat, a mouse and a musty smell.

The house was nice overall. Great porch for spending mornings on. There was plenty of space for everyone to find a place to spend time.

Can see the lake from property.

Cute house but the smell coming from the kitchen sink was nauseating.! We filled the sinks with water and plugged them which helped. Clean and well stocked with dishes, towels etc. It is right on the highway so there’s a bit of noise but not a big deal for us. Nice view of the lake.

Beautiful view! We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening watching the sunset! Very clean and charming home!

My family and I enjoyed staying here for several days while skiing at Schweitzer. The lake views are beautiful, and we saw lots of wildlife including deer, elk, moose, and eagles. The weather was very cold but we had no problems staying warm inside the house. We had plenty of space and enjoyed using the kitchen for cooking meals. Like other reviewers have said, you can hear some road noise, but it didn’t bother us that much. Also, it’s a little tricky backing down the driveway into the road since there’s not enough room to turn around, but it’s not a big deal. Overall it was a great experience!

Our first night, there was a mouse in the living room and mouse poop behind the couch. The house is very old. They only left 6 towels and there are 8 people. It’s a lake house and there were no beach towels. The fire pit is non existing. It’s on the side of a hill you can barely get to so we weren’t able to have a fire which we were really looking forward to. It was so hot upstairs I’m glad I brought my personal fan.
It was fine otherwise, but ultimately disappointing.

I have never had a bad VRBO or Vacasa experience like this. Cost of rental does not match property. The pictures and description are far beyond reality. I’ve waited almost a week to hear back from local property manager with no response. The highway is understated in pictures but is intensely loud highway. No one could hear each other speak on deck and we were all woken violently at 5 each morning. Sounds like cars will drive in house even with windows shut.
We noticed awful smell on first morning so traced it to the side yard where we found stinky bubbling sludge pooling. I used messaging in app and called to try to get help as it looked to be seeping into their garage. Late afternoon a few young men came by spending a couple of minutes looking at sludge pool. They dismissed it as mountain rainwater runoff. The terrible stink and bubbling continued through stay increasing with any shower or flush. Smell drove us inside or huddled to far end of deck.
The pictures are very lovely but misrepresent the size of lot, location relative to highway and quality of property and the furnishings. I really think price needs to be adjusted and pictures should be aligned to reality. We loved the Pend Orielle area but felt tricked and taken on our experience with property. Still waiting for any contact 6 days after my call.

We - two adults and three teens - were taking a trip before school starts, and our daughter booked this house on VRBO. I really liked that we could bring our small dog to this house. The house is cute and fit us all easily. The kitchen was small but fine for me to cook for everyone. I did miss having a dishwasher, though. Let's just say there were plenty of dishes to wash, during our stay.
The lake is in view right across the highway, and access for swimming is less than two miles away. Silverwood is a 45 minute drive, and nearby Sandpoint is a really nice little town.
Our biggest challenge with the house is that there was no A/C. They only have ceiling fans and pedestal fans around. I knew of the weather forecast (high 90's), and I did ask - several days before the trip - if they had anything else they could put in the house to help cool it with the unusually high temperatures. The answer was 'no'. We ended up buying a portable A/C unit to bring with us, because I didn't think it would be cool enough outside in the evenings. I was right.
One portable A/C couldn't cool the whole house very well, of course, so the kids slept on the couch close to it, because it was too hot upstairs where their beds were. I would just hope in the future the management may have a back up plan for hot summer days that are likely to happen.
Finally, this wasn't an issue because we had all of the windows closed and the ambient noise of our A/C unit, BUT the highway right in front of the house had quite a bit of traffic. We couldn't sit on the porch to enjoy the lake view because you couldn't hear a thing over the road noise. If someone thought they would cool the house by opening the windows at night, this would be a major issue... because the traffic was present at all hours.

Renter beware- very disappointing rental is on loud highway, stinky septic issues, and pics mislead

This was the perfect location for my family to stay while visiting Clark Fork, Sandpoint, and Silverwood. The views of Lake Pend orielle from many of the rooms and front porch was stunning. The kitchen was nice for cooking and there were plenty of space for us all to hang out. Our only complaint was it lacks air conditioning so it was very very warm. They do provide fans in each bedroom which helped a lot. Overall a very charming place.
