We have stayed at Sugar Beach condos 4 or 5 times and this unit was among the best. Well equipped kitchen, well supplied towels. Nice and quiet as it is near the end of the building.

We stayed this ocean front condominium a week and it was amazing experience.
Everything is so convenient. Restaurant, supermarket, shopping mall, all activities. We choose Kihei because every where we wanted go was good distance from Kihei. Property was super clean. I loved also welcome gifts.Most I like this place is front of ocean. I can hear sound of waves. This is the place to relax and have fun in Maui. Thank you😊

Check-in clerk is impatient. Written Information provided about use of tv equipment was deficient, however the Vascara agent came to the room twice to walk us through the process and was very pacient and to be commended, Tiffany.

The best thing about our stay in Maui was the beautiful view from our condo. The very first night we saw whales in front of the condo and the beautiful palm trees and crashing waves. The condo had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable.

We enjoyed our stay at this little condo. We had a rental car, and we location of it on the island is really convenient if you plan to travel to different attractions. This place is RIGHT on the water (so close you can hear the waves with tele lanai door closed. It was great on those rainy days because you could still enjoy the ocean from inside. We felt the unit was a bit outdated for the price that was asked, but it was clean and the location and views made up for that.

Centrally located, so easy to get to most of Maui. But be prepared for the wind!!! Kitchen was nicely organized and well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc, but very lacking in basic supplies. Not even salt, pepper, sugar/sweetener, or cooking spray/olive oil; so be prepared to buy everything if you are going to cook. Enough toilet paper, but only 1 roll paper towels, no kleenex. Cooler in the closet was handy, though had a broken handle. Bed was big and comfortable. Could have used some instructions on how to work the dishwasher and shower.
Maintenance was VERY prompt when called. We enjoyed balcony, but would have enjoyed it more if the table was not on the brink of falling apart.

One suggestion is that the sliding door track is split and will not allow the door to fully close. It leaves about an 8 inch long 1/4 inch wide gap and makes it hard to open. Just an fyi.

The condo is ocean front, we spent most of our time on the balcony. We were there for relaxation. My only complaint was we had to start the first load of laundry before check-out. My fear was what if after we left and there was a leak from the washing machine, and the condo flooded. Am i responsible? You should remove guess to do the laundry just for the safety of your own property. Thanks

The cons: I'm fairly certain this unit hasn't been updated in a very long time, if ever. It looks tired, dated and is in need of a refresh. Although it's advertised as a non-smoking unit, the smell of stale cigarettes is infused in the old furniture and draperies. What's provided is very basic, nothing extra. In addition, a few days before our scheduled arrival date, we were notified that the pool and spa would be out of order for "annual scheduled maintenance," which should have been disclosed before booking, not after making the final payment. Overall, it was adequate, but nothing special. For our next trip to Maui we won't be staying there again.

The best thing about this property is the lanai and the sound of the waves. Overall, the unit was clean and the kitchen was well stocked however the dishwasher is in disrepair (the top basket hangs low and the arm does not spin).
The bad.... the upholstery on the sofa is so dirty and smells so bad that we could not use it. The living room chair and ottoman was also filthy - both need to be either steam cleaned or replaced. It was so uncomfortable that we refrained from sitting on any of the living room furniture.
The water issue with the shower reported in an earlier review (June-2021) is still happening.... only half the water comes out of the shower head and the rest runs out of the spigot. The shower does not drain properly and you shower in a couple inches of water pooling around your feet.
The linens... the beige towels are matted and smell... definitely do not feel clean. Perhaps this is due to housekeeping requiring that we start a load of wash before leaving.... how long do they sit wet in the washing machine before drying?
The television in the bedroom can't be used as the lower half of the screen has white dots on it. The closet in the bedroom smells due to the bamboo beach mats (appeared to be damp) and the quality of bed pillows leaves a lot to be desired.
This unit has the potential to be worth the price charged if they purchase some new linens, clean the furniture and repair the shower and dishwasher.

This condo was lovely - right on the beach with a great balcony. Plenty of towels were provided, the washer and dryer in-unit was a great feature, and did I mention the balcony with amazing views?? We only had minor issues: no Wifi code posted so we had to wait until the second day to get access; the shower pressure wasn't great as half the water came out the tub spigot with no way to change it; the provided beach chairs were not that comfortable; the dishwasher wouldn't run. But all very minor and not deal breakers. The location was quiet which was nice, however it means it's not within walking distance of anything so you definitely need a car, but everything you would want is a only a short drive away. We never had any issues finding a parking place and usually got a shaded spot too. I would recommend this place for a quiet vacation. The beach is nice - if you want to swim at any time other than high tide bring sturdy water shoes as it gets rocky & reef-y very quickly and you will shred your feet. But the water was great and the beach in front of the condos was never very crowded. We had a lovely short vacation here and really enjoyed ourselves.

We love Sugar Beach Resort. The view, the beach and the lack of crowds are phenomenal but this unit needs to be upgraded. We got bumped to this condo after the condo we booked canceled our reservation (twice). Everything was old and overused. It was clean but grubby. The shower needs to be replaced, knives sharpened, headboard on the bed should be attached to the bed frame, walls repainted, cushions replaced, get some beach chairs from this decade, and towels that you can’t see through because they’ve been washed hundreds of times. This didn’t feel like a home away from home and we were disappointed. You can also hear every door opening from the condo above...pocket doors weren’t a great call in the building. We’ve stayed at Sugar Beach so many times but this time was below average. I hope the owners dedicate some TLC to this unit and make it as lovely as it can be.
