About this house rental
Situated in Grand Lake, this charming house for $2,893 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Set just 10 feet from Shadow Mountain Lake, this brand-new 3-story home offers stunning views of the lake and Mount Baldy from floor to ceiling windows throughout the house. Two master suites and two other bedrooms capture these views as well as the vaulted great room, chef's dream kitchen, 12-person dining table and cozy lower family room. While reviews mention larger groups up to 22, Grand County now restricts all rentals to a maximum of 16. We built this custom home to accommodate our large extended family after being unable to find a big enough house anywhere in the area. Bring your own large group to celebrate a wedding, a family reunion, or a perfect getaway that everyone will love! Since it is just recently completed, there are no reviews yet. Exceptional outdoor living spaces capturing the jaw-dropping views include a large upper deck with built-in barbeque, comfortable lower patio seating, a large gas firepit, an 8-person hot tub, outdoor fireplace, sandy beach and access to a large dock with a bench and fishing chair. The toy garage is stocked with kayaks, stand up paddle boards, life jackets, spa robes and plenty of towels for enjoying lake activities. The state-of-the-art kitchen is ideal for serving large groups with 10 seats around 2 large islands in addition to the large dining table. Appliances include a double oven, steam oven, microwave/convection/speed oven, induction cooktop, 2 dishwashers, full freezer, and large refrigerator. Indoor entertainment includes a sound optimized 12-person dedicated theater with leather seating as well as a game-rich loft area for the kids next to two 6-person bunk rooms. The town of Grand Lake is just 1 mile away with ample shopping, restaurants, miniature golf, and several delicious ice cream stores. Take a picnic to the beach and watch the sailboat races or rent any boat of your liking: power boats, pontoon boats, kayaks, paddle boats and more. Our friends & family enjoyed our stay very much! What a beautiful home, & incredible scenery! The beds & amenities were top-notch! The high-end kitchen allowed us to make meals together & we loved the large dining table so we could all sit & enjoy games & meals together. The lower level set up with theatre room & separate family room gave us so much space to spread out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & hope to be back again!

Our stay at this vacation rental was truly exceptional. The property, with its breathtaking scenery, felt like we had discovered paradise. From the very beginning, the hospitality shown by Larry was beyond expectations. Every detail was meticulously planned, ensuring that our visit was an unforgettable getaway. This property has everything you can possibly imagine. If it wasn’t for the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park, there really was no reason to leave the property. The combination of the stunning property and Larry’s exceptional hospitality made it more than just a vacation — it was an experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this location to anyone in search of an unforgettable retreat. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

This was the perfect place for us to have our wedding ceremony on the patio, have a private chef make us a delicious celebration dinner, and have all thirteen of us stay & play. The house is beautiful and spacious and the host was very communicative and quick to respond when we had a question.
We enjoyed sightseeing in the park, visiting Grand Lake, taking the paddle boards out on the lake, having a morning cup of coffee on the deck, and soaking in the hot tub. The location is just a few miles from Grand Lake and the entry to RMNP. Note that the main rooms of the house are on the second floor and each level is connected by stairs.
This house will always have a special place in our lives and we are grateful to have the opportunity to stay here.

Our family had a fantastic time staying in this beautiful, very well-equipped home. The view overlooking the lake was amazing to wake up to. The weather cooperated all week with a double rainbow over the lake the first evening and a moose swimming across to the shore next-door the second day. The toy garage was stocked even better than we anticipated, with plenty of life jackets, kayaks, and SUP's for all to enjoy, and our grandchildren took full advantage, spending hours on the water each day. With lots of room to spread out, our children, who needed to, were able to work while there. The theatre room was a hit as well. A very large and well appointed kitchen was a plus. On the down side, the air mattress on the pullout loveseat had a leak, which we found to be taped. Luckily we had an air mattress with us to put on top to get by. We found the extensive amount of electronics to be baffling at times. And the bathroom with the pocket door would unlock and open while we brushed our teeth. At one time it opened while a daughter was half dressed, startling both her and our grandson in the next room. Hopefully this can be addressed. There were cameras throughout the home, as well as on the ipads. My son-in-law covered them up during our stay to protect our privacy. All of the positives far outweigh any issues we had. Even this grandmother got out on the lake in a kayak. Many wonderful memories were made.

Our extended family had a fabulous vacation ... the perfect location to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The house itself was amazing (although a bit more "tech" than we had expected), incredibly designed and constructed. The location was perfect ... right on the lake with stunning views of the lake and mountains. We especially enjoyed early morning coffee on the deck watching the sunrise as more and more people came out. It was great being so close to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance that easily allowed us to enter before 9:00am when the timed entry process started. We also enjoyed the town of Grand Lake on short excursions with the kids for the park, ice cream, and shopping. This house "had it all" ... and is in our plans for a return trip.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house on Grand Lake. We had a large family that this house accommodated us all well. The owner was very accessible if we had a question or concern. We enjoyed all the aspects this property provided: theater room, modern large kitchen and bathrooms, bedding, towels, amenities, life preservers, kayaks, paddle boards, fire pit, outdoor tables, chairs—everything to make our trip resort like with incredible views. We were celebrating a very special occasion and it met our expectations and more. Priceless trip!!

The house is in a beautiful location right on Shadow Lake. The house comfortably accommodated our whole family (16 of all ages) and better equipped than any of the VRBO's we've experienced. It made for a great family reunion.

This home is beautifully appointed, has an extremely well stocked kitchen and lots of water sports equipment. Our large family group had plenty of room, with different areas to spread out. We especially enjoyed the home theater and the outdoor hot tub. Will easily accommodate large groups. The views from the many outdoor spaces were spectacular! Hope to return.

This was the perfect property for our family. It is spacious and comfortable with unbelievable views and amenities. The kayaks were a blast, and we spent the entire weekend on the patios. Location is convenient to town. We loved it!

What an incredible trip it was! Larry was extremely attentive and accommodating for any requests/help we needed. The hot tub wasn't working when we arrived which was a bummer but Larry was able to schedule someone to come in the next day, and by day 3 we were able to use it again. The space is massive and no detail in tech was forgotten. The only negative aspect of the trip was the cleanliness of the house upon arrival, I would chalk that up to maybe just a one time bad job by the cleaners but with the size of the house + luxury aspect a thorough cleaning is expected (green residue along the hot tub that we cleaned, the shower drains if not cleaned before are truly gross to do yourself, residual food/etc on the floor from what I assume to be children prior). Other than that, so many positives, the view is better than the pictures, and all the amenities you could ever need are at your disposal (even speakers playing around the campfire outside! What a wonderful touch.)
It's a great space for events, and we left wanting to come back. If you love water sports (kayaking, sups, fishing) they have the garage more than stocked, this is the place for you. You're lucky to stay here, and again we thank larry and his wife for all the support throughout the weekend. There were so many pros that outweighed the few negatives.
Also, larry recommended an at home chef, Amber, who we had do a dinner and brunch for us. Her service was incredible, the food even better, and the price is right!
Just do it! You won't regret it.

The views are second to none at this lake front property. The interiors are warm and inviting and you will absolutely enjoy cooking in this kitchen! We hosted our families for an intimate wedding ceremony and reception and could not have chosen better people to host (thank you Larry and Connie!) and a more beautiful setting.
We fully enjoyed all the amenities - hot tub, movie theater, SUPs and kayaks.
We hope to come back and enjoy this lovely home again in the future!

Better than listed!
This property was better than the listing photos! Magnificent home on a beautiful lake. Our family of 14 stayed for six days and it was awesome. Hoping to make a return trip during summer months to be able to enjoy this place more. This house literally has it all. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space if needed.
I will mention that you are not allowed to use the wood burning fire place in the great room. We spent most of our time on that floor since the kitchen, dining and living rooms were all in that same space. There is a fire place on the first floor that can be used in the living room down there or outside on the porch. We did not get to use the outdoor fire pit as everything was covered in a few feet of snow. Nonetheless we enjoyed our trip and hope to return.

Larry the owner, was available with ease to any questions we had. Lots of high tech gadgets. Fun yard games. We were there for a week and a half and had a blast. Larry recommended Amber for catering who was a life saver for our dinners. For nights when she was free she'd come, cook, serve, clean up. if she was busy, she'd pre-cook and leave food for us with heating instructions. She's an incredible chef. We loved everything she made.

Our Wedding at Shadow Mountain Lodge
We just celebrated our wedding at Shadow Mountain Lodge, and we had the most spectacular time! The house was stunning, high tech and in the most amazing setting in Colorado! We hosted our closest friends and family and it was amazing to have bedrooms and a bathroom for every couple! And the kids LOVED the dedicated boy and girl bunkbed rooms! And the loft area with games for the kids is a perfect place to "send them away" yet still be able to have eyes on them from the amazing living room! Our ceremony on the patio was perfect, and when it started to rain we moved to the covered deck! WOW! And to top it off there are toys to play on the lake!!!!!! Larry, thank you so much for working with us and allowing us to start our forever story at your family vacation home! You and your wife built the perfect place for family memories!

There were a few instances where we needed a plumber (understandably, for a house with 8 bathrooms and maybe 80+ plumbing lines). Larry went the extra mile to ensure it was fixed despite the shortage of service personnel around the country (one of them drove 2 hours to fix an issue).
Home Theatre, Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Hot Tub, Super sized Grill, Zoned Music System, Outdoor fire pit and the list goes on. You may never run out of options to entertain yourself and your group at this house.
