Friendly and helpful staff at reception.
Walking distance to two S bahn stations (keep in mind the Berliner Tor S-bahn station is not comfortable for those carrying suitcases. It has many steps and no functioning elevators).
The WiFi connection is slow and has blackout periods.
When you enter the room there is a decorative pillow and decorative cover on the bed.
These are probably never washed and because there is no storage space in the room most guests leave them on the dirty floor.
I urge the hotel to stop this unnecessary practice (I don't like dirty items placed on clean sheets).
You are not allowed early check in (even at 13:30) unless you register as a member of Holiday Inn.
I declined the offer to become a member because I don't appreciate such corporate tactics.
My request to check out at 1 pm was also declined unless I pay extra (for only an hour it is unacceptable).

Good hotel near the center, attractions within walking distance
The room lacks a kettle and coffee maker, which are basic amenities in modern hotels. Slippers would also be nice.

No space to place my luggage, and no kettle or facilities to make tea or coffee in the room

The location was perfect for the main reason for the visit, and the city center was an wasy walk with plenty of restaurants and bars. Staff were friendly and efficient.
The room was a little smaller than expected, and the work space was tiny and not well lit. So workinh on my lap top was not comfortable in the room.
