I rented this property to celebrate my birthday with family & friends. I contacted the host through this app days before and called to ensure that everything would be set and into place the day of my event. The host stated that everything was fine and that he would meet me upon check in. Keep in mind this property says it allows birthday parties, weddings, etc. When it was time for checkin, the host started giving me a tour of the inside of the property. When asked what I had planned (which was a gathering with a few friends and family) the host then said that he had been getting complaints from the neighbors because of previous parties hosted. As I could see his attitude change, he continued to tell me that he couldn’t take “a risk” of me having an event due to the neighbor’s complaint about the property being used as a home away and that he would rather give me my money back & get a bad review. As I had already sent out invites, I told him that I wouldn’t have booked this property if it didn’t state that gatherings wasn’t allowed and I told him that my refund of $461 would not be enough for me since the gathering would be starting in less than 2 hours. He then told me that the only way I would be able to have my gathering was if I paid him an EXTRA $300 so that he could hire security. I stressed to him that I didn’t have an extra $300 to spend so last minute so could I hire my own security. He then told me no. He then contacted a man that I have NEVER met & asked me to explain everything to this stranger as if I had done something wrong on my end. The guys continue to tell him (while on speaker phone) that he don’t think that he should let me have a gathering based on my age (24) & that “you know how those 24 years old gathering be”. Basically stereotyping me. As I continued to tell the owner, the only thing I could do was give him my word (still trying to work with the guy) he end up telling me either you can get a refund or pay the extra $300 in a rude manner. I ended up having to contact Vrbo and tell them the situation so that I could attempt to have my event. This is still continuing 3 hours after my “check in time” & an hour before my event and Vrbo sent him an email stating that a refund would not be a solution to the problem so that he needs to let me continue with my stay. When getting the email he texted me “ok so you want to go this route, I will be over to get the keys in 15”. I then had to contact the police to ensure I could cont.

This property is beautiful and very accommodating. Me and my friends loved it! It’s probably one of the best vacations rentals we’ve stayed at thus far. It was definitely worth booking!

Only booked the place for one night but for sure would stay a lot more if it was a bit cheaper. Basic party house, very modern, very nice and quiet neighborhood.
