Things to Know The community pool is open annually from mid-May to mid-September for guest use. Pool dates are weather permitting and at the Condo Association's discretion. The balcony may not be available for guests from October to mid-May. This property is managed by Vacasa Virginia LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Sanctuary is a distinct mix of fabulous and dreadful. Beautiful buildings in a spectacular location with the single worst parking garages I have ever experienced. No-one told us there were three buildings, A B & C, each with a garage. After spending 45 minutes driving around under buildings A&B – the parking spaces are not numbered consecutively – we couldn’t get into C garage because we had a kayak on the roof of the car. We ended up parking outside in a handicap spot next to the elevator for our rental, wanting to find our unit before shlepping our luggage inside. At this point we were more than a little frustrated to discover the key card scanner did not work to open the door to the elevator lobby. We trekked back to the main lobby where the scanner worked and so were able to access the elevator from there. We found our unit, opened by a key not a scannable card. The key was extremely tricky, requiring almost gymnastic manipulations to open the door. The key was a constant irritant throughout our stay. Happily, once inside the unit, we found a lovely apartment with a beautiful view of the Sound. The Condo was nicely decorated with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. The clothes dryer didn’t work, but a repairman appeared very quickly and solved the problem. After such a rocky start, we very well may return to the Sanctuary. The beach was lovely, we enjoyed the proximity of the wildlife refuge, and the local ambiance. On a return trip, we would understand how the garages work and hopefully the key card reader and the door key problems will have been rectified.

Overall a great trip. The few things that could be improved - TVs are quite old and only had Netflix. You couldn’t add Spotify Apple Disney etc. The music box had CD but no blue tooth. -The grills available are beautiful but out of the 14 that were available only 1 would light. -The condo needs a thorough cleaning.

The condo was lovely, clean and just as you see in the photos. Our only complaint was we were given the incorrect condo number and the entry code would not work. We did contact the office but since it was after hours it took some time to get the correct information. My only complaint was we were not given the welcome package which consists of hand soap, additional TP, sponge, dish soap, extra garbage bags or dish washing detergent. We spoke with Vacasa office we were asked to stop by the office and pickup what we needed. The staff was very professional and did have all needed supplies. We did have a lovely stay however when we were leaving we had a small problem. Another tenants dog deficated on the front door mat and my husband did not see it and tracked it into the condo. I did clean the floors and we did mention this to the Vacasa staff. They explained they cannot do much but will mention this on going problem to the Condo management team. Its not fair that the maids should be cleaning the outside door mats after peoples animals deficate. We clean up after ours so no excuse for this.

The condo was great! Right across from the Baja! This is why I booked it! Everything was great but I never found the reserved parking lot. There were some hairs on the floor. Other than that great stay! Really comfortable beds!

Great location right in the middle to Sandbridge, has a restaurant on the bottom of the condo, but parking situation is a little confusing.

If you are looking for the laid-back non-commercial atmosphere of a quiet beach, Sandbridge Beach/The Sanctuary, then look no further. I truly feel like we discovered the hidden gem of Virginia Beach. There were no boardwalks or built up resorts. The Sanctuary was the largest building in the area, and even at that, the simplicity of it was no less inclusive to all your needs. I'm sure things are a bit more bustling in season, but I can still see this being a more relaxed environment. The condo itself was spacious enough for my party of 6 and had everything as advertised. The only issue I would say is the parking was extremely confusing. In all fairness, the Vacasa check-in attendant did give us a map, I just struggled to read it in relation to where we were. The buildings (which I'm sure is of no fault of their own) are not labeled, ex: building B parking 230B-400C, ect. ect. I'd recommend labeling the outside of the buildings to facilitate easier parking because we were told towing is strictly enforced and we spent a good 60 minutes trying to find our spots. Once we did, everything was smooth sailing. Hope to be back again!

We had a nice visit. Overall the condo is very nice and updated. The condo's kitchen could definitely use more cooking items.
