About this house rental
Nestled in Newry, this lovely house for $200 per night is a great choice for your next break. Very comfy 3 bedroom home with large kitchen and sunny dining room with views of Sunday River. Large mudroom entry great for outdoor gear. Master suit with jetted tub. Hot tub, wood fireplace. Just minutes to Sunday River, swimming, hiking. The house is has an open kitchen and dining room that gets a lot of sun light. The living room is cozy with a large sectional couch facing a nice stone fireplace. Guests will have access to the entire house. Private hot tub on the deck. Gas BBQ grill, Fire pit to enjoy the cool Maine summer nights! Snowshoes Provided! In back of the house there a large field that you can venture out to and even walk do to the river and along the trail that runs next to the river. Great snowshoeing right out your back door. The house sits in a large pasture in the Sunday River valley. The house gets plenty of sunlight and has awesome wide open views of the stars at night. Just down the road from the house is the Artist Covered Bridge, a great spot to relax, take photos, swim, or walk along the trails. About 10 miles down the road are the popular swimming holes "Letter S" and "Frenchmans Hole". Shoot up to Sunday River, just 1 mile away, for some great skiing in the winter, or mountain biking, ziplines, and chairlift rides in the summer. Grafton Notch State Park is only 20 minutes away and features world class hiking on many trails including sections of the Appalachian Trails. This was the BEST vacation! This house is just what we would want when we retire here. Plenty of space inside and out! Everything was just perfect and the photos do not do this rental justice-we could have very easily moved in! You can see the top of the mountain with the ski trails from the deck and the back view of the trees and mountains filled our nature deficit. When it rained, we just moved to the covered front porch. Our 12 year old pup lived his best life this vacation; he has never been so relaxed on vacation. The mudroom was awesome, the hot tub was the best way to end an evening, we made s'mores in the firepit, hiked locally, and relaxed. We will be back next summer!

We stayed at the Brownie in March for a ski weekend and it was fantastic. The location to Sunday River is very convenient (5 mins). The house was very clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a nice touch after a long day of skiing. Everything was easy to use and thought out. We also loved walking through the field and along the river.

Kirk was incredibly responsive and helpful during our stay. Check in and check out process was seamless. I would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to Newry for a few days away from it all.

Repeat guests after a 5 year hiatus. Super convenient location to mountain and local restaurants. Hot tub was great. So was fireplace with plenty of wood and starter materials. Cozy family room to relax after a day on the slopes.

Our family comes back to stay here every year and we have the BEST TIME. the home is so welcoming, clean, and the fire place and hot tub just make it perfect. We never want to leave after our stay. Just minutes away from Sunday river access road and steps from a cool walking path for our dogs.

The description for this property is accurate. The house had everything we needed. The bedroom with the bunkbeds was great for the kids who were all cousins 14, 13, 11 and six years old. My wife and I had one queen bedroom and her sister and her husband had the other. This house is five minutes from the mountain and extremely comfortable. Will definitely be renting here again!

We all loved this home. Extremely convenient to Sunday River. My adult children went skiing and snowboarding everyday and it only took 5 min. or less to get to the ski lodge. The view of the mountains is gorgeous from the huge windows in this home. It was also very nice to have the inside porch area to hang snowsuits and the boot dryer to dry out the boots. There is a washer and dryer in this room also. The kitchen is beautiful and has a coffee maker, dish machine and all the dishes we needed to cook our meals. Stocked with paper towels, dish machine soap, hand soap, liquid dish soap, salt and pepper shaker and numerous spices. The wrap around couch and real fireplace was a wonderful place to relax at night. Firewood was supplied as was kindling. Beds were very comfortable ( and I am a picky bed person!) There were extra pillows and blankets and boardgames. Plenty of parking in the well plowed driveway. The owner was excellent to deal with! He even went above and beyond by mailing a bag I had left behind to me. Thank you so much Kirk! I highly recommend this home and I will definitely stay here again with my family. We all had a fantastic time.

Incredible stay, will definitely be back! My family and I stay in many places and this one was our favorite by far! It was clean, cozy and extremely comfortable. The hot tub was exactly what we needed after a long day of snowboarding. The fireplace made the home so comfortable. All of the little details And welcome yes made the experience unforgettable. Home was nice clean spacious exactly as shown in photos and described in the description. The location is great was just a short drive to a couple of stores not too long of a drive to some wonderful sites. We really enjoyed driving up Sunday River towards the Jordan hotel which had some really great views. we also enjoyed going to the Grafton notch area we checked out screw auger falls and the moose caves along the way there was a wonderful little bakery that has a stand on the side of the road called puzzle mountain bakery absolutely recommend grabbing yourself some strawberry rhubarb jam from them. We found a swimming hole less than 20 minutes away in bethel this was a great spot to take the kids.
The Home came equipped with a couple of binders
One had different important information with local emergency contacts listed and operations of the home. the other binder included suggestions of places to eat and things to see places to shop. We did find one or two of the menus was a little bit outdated but that really was not a problem for us.
On our second day we had an issue with the dryer and also woke up to one of the smoke alarms doing the beep beep beep telling us the battery was dying, property maintenance was over immediately to check it out and see what was wrong with the dryer and to quick change the battery for us, unfortunately the dryer was nothing they could fix, so he offered to take our stuff over to the house next door to dry them for us but it was nice and sunny so I decided to just hang our stuff outside on the railing of the deck. I was very impressed with the promptness of property management and I was so glad to have a friendly face come help us out without any hesitation.
Absolutely recommend staying in this home or any other property they run because I assume that their other properties are maintained just as well as this one.
