Our Cottage is located on the very lush and beautiful Botanical Garden and is a charming oasis for a couple or family of 3 who is interested in submersing themselves in the magic of Waipio Valley. Enjoy the many botanicals that grow on the lower Waipio Gardens Estate. The 20' x 20' cottage has an off-grid solar system with a fully functioning kitchenette, complete with a cooktop stove, sink, and mini fridge. The cottage has a small bathroom with on-demand hot water, a shower, toilet, vanity/sink, and a very spacious front porch for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the trade winds in the trees and the relaxing sound of the nearby year-round stream. Just a short 7-minute walk to Nanaeu Waterfalls and a 40-minute magical walk on the Historic 'Kings Trail' will take you to the infamous Waipio Black Sand Beach! This Cottage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the amazing and sacred Waipio Valley. Disclaimer: 95% of the time the road to the property is accessible, however, there is a small chance of the road being inaccessible seasonally. Full refund available for dates property is inaccessible. Property owners are not responsible for events associated with guests' delayed arrival or departure due to extreme weather.  We have been successful in getting all of our guests out of the valley in time for their flights with no delays.  However, we do recommend guests arrange additional accommodations on the Island for a day at the end of their stay to ensure a smooth transition to the airport and alleviate the stress of catching flights on a timely basis. WAIPIO ACCESS UPDATE: Due to the recent Hawaii County Emergency Proclamation Rules regarding access into Waipio Valley, currently, all tourists, including our guests to Waipio Gardens, are unable to drive themselves into Waipio Valley unless they are residents of Hawaii and hold a valid Hawaii driver's license.  Until the Waipio access road is repaired to the County of Hawaii's standards we will be required to shuttle all of our guests down ourselves.  (**Included in the listing rate is one free round-trip shuttle into the Valley on your check-in and check-out days.) We understand that many of our guests may want to make day trips out of the Valley to explore other parts of the island. We ask that you please schedule these day trips ahead of time with Kristi and Sukumar so that they can plan accordingly to accommodate your shuttles.
