Historic 1920's Medina River 7,000sf Hacienda style stone ranch home, 5 minutes from downtown Bandera. 7 acres with PRIVATE Medina River access. This is a very large and hospitable home/property for any size gathering. Base price includes the MAIN HOUSE with 4 BEDROOMS/4 BATHS/10 GUESTS. We have 4 ADDITIONAL LARGE PRIVATE ROOMS w/attached baths available @ an additional cost as needed! These are located directly behind main house upstairs over the garage. We can sleep up to 25+ guests! Would you like to have a small intimate wedding or large family reunion? This is your place! We have 4 additional large private bedrooms w/attached baths available @ an additional cost as needed! Each large room is unique, with different sized beds, etc. So we can customize your stay based on your groups sleeping arrangements/needs so that everyone will be comfortable, at the right price. The total interior square footage is 7,000sf, and we can sleep up to 25+ guests. There are 2 kitchens, 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, and several large outdoor gathering areas. This is a true Texas gem. Also the Bandera area choice PRIVATE Medina river access. A 5 minute hike through our beautiful pecan and peach orchard will lead you to your private river spot. Or, a 2/10 mile drive directly to within feet of the rope swing! There is no comparable property. Plus, you are a 5 minute drive to grocery, shopping, restaurants, bars, and live music in THE COWBOY CAPITOL, Bandera, TX. This sweet village is the last vestige of real Texas. For nature lovers, our private Highland Waters 2 mile river greenbelt begins at this property! Lost Maples, Hill Country Natural Area, Garner State Park, Old Tunnel State Park, and much, much more is close by.

Our group of 11 spent a few days at the DH River Lodge in Jan 2024 during the Bandera 100k ultramarathon. This place was absolutely fantastic! The property was clean and well-prepared for our arrival. We had everything we needed for our stay. Things that we particularly liked:
-The Great Room was awesome for hanging out.
-Everyone had there own private bathroom.
-The kitchen and dining room were huge.
-The host Alan was super-responsive to all our ?'s.
I would absolutely recommend the DH River Lodge for anyone spending some time in Bandera. The whole group kept asking me how I found this jewel of a place. Book you stay and you won't be disappointed.

Great location to town, far enough out to be perfectly private. Nearby road not necessarily noticeable with lower traffic. Outer property and access to the Medina R. was great. Property mgmt great to deal with.

Very pleased with the home, great family area to sit and talk around the fireplace and different sitting areas in The same room, loved how each room had its own bathroom and just very inviting. Great outdoor area. Will definitely be booking again. Great communication with the property manager and very helpful.

Wonderful property with lots of space for all to enjoy. The history of the property is pretty cool to. The access to the river was beautiful - just hope next trip we have water! Pray for Rain :)

This place is awesome! Lots of room to spread out, enjoy your time outside or inside. There’s plenty to do and town is just 5 minutes down the road and has everything you need if you forgot something or if you want to grab a bite.

Setup a weekend stay for a 70th birthday party, we rented the entire place and everyone loved it! The place is huge and layed out very nicely with plenty of room for people to spread out. We had a large group of 20-25 people and not one complaint. The area was quiet and relaxing and access to the river was fantastic. The area at the river was great for all activities, clear water with various depths that were appropriate for all activities. Close to town and shopping. Lots of wildlife to watch while enjoying your morning coffee! Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great hill country getaway!

We enjoyed our stay. There is plenty of room and a great amenities. Swimming in the river was especially relaxing. Host was accommodating and responsive.

Honestly, the pictures don't do the place justice! Very dog friendly, and a place that really brings the family together. Loved the courtyard, and private river access. Cool, clear water with great shallow and deep parts. Perfect for swimming or just dipping your feet and relaxing.

The property and home is amazing! We had a small wedding reception of approx. 40-50 people. The space was perfect! Plenty of inside and outside seating. Large bedrooms with comfy beds. Private road to the river to relax and enjoy hanging out with friends and family.
Fishing was also on the agenda for our son and there were catfish caught! Good times!
Alan was also amazing and very responsive. I remembered I left my rings on a table after leaving, he went and found them for me and overnighted them! Thank you so much!! We will definitely be back!

Alan thanks for having us. This was our second year to stay and we will be back next April. If you plan to ride the Three Sisters there’s no better spot. Close to Bandera and the facilities are fantastic.

Everything was pretty awesome I was just a little bombed we couldn’t use the washer & dryer since I like washing our clothes after dipping in the river cause of the smell & since we do cook breakfast it would of been nice if he could let us use both stoves just to finish cooking for 10+ppl but other thank that everything was very nice! & the fact that the water fall is like a 2-3min walk made up for everything & anything.

We had such a wonderful time here. we were lucky to have perfect weather, we were comfortable. We did spend a good share of the time outside, walking, and enjoying the wildlife. Even our dogs loved it, and they are very hard to please. Our last night we sat out under the stars and roasted marshmallows.

The house was a great place for to stay during an ultramarathon in Bandera. The owner was easy to communicate and work with.

We had such a wonderful stay at this property. We had two adults, one teenager, three kids, and two dogs. There was on-site entertainment for all of us. The accommodations were comfortably rustic and super beautiful from a historical perspective. The beds were comfortable, there was always hot water, and the common areas were more than big enough to support our crew. Alan was very responsive to any and all communication, and we cannot wait to return with even more family and friends!

We loved the lodge- so charming and immaculate. We had a group of 6 adults and our dog and the setup was great. The house is a classic, with stone and wood and gorgeous old tile. So many rooms to hang out in. Great for groups. The decor is really cool and well curated. The beds are very comfortable. The great room not only has a wood burning fireplace but a ping pong table, a dart board and lots of games and books. Plus a parlor with another fireplace and a big dining room. The kitchen is small but we had no trouble making meals there. There’s a second larger kitchen that’s open for bigger parties. The courtyard is a great hang out space with lots of outdoor furniture- we spent a lot of time out there. Then there’s the short walk down to a really beautiful stretch of the Medina River with swimming holes and waterfalls. We had a great time. Bandera is only 4 miles away so we went into town a couple times. The only small drawback is that the lodge sits pretty close to the main Highway 16 into town so there was traffic noise and we needed to keep a close watch on our dog because the property is not fenced on the front facing the highway. Still we will definitely return. Alan was a good host and we were well taken care of.

Friends and family gathered together to celebrate Thanksgiving.
It did rain while we were there, but it gave us plenty of time to play games and eat. The beds were to everybody's satisfaction. The Lodge is just a great place and we enjoyed spending time there. Hope to go back.

Loved this place as a kid in school but never got to see it inside. Was happily surprised it was available for rent. Sparkling clean for as old as it is. Not a knock, house is old but is immaculate. Just a few minutes from Bandera but not sitting in the middle of it. Reasonable fee and river access is huge for folks that like to hang out at the river. We loved it and would love to stay again give the opportunity.

Wonderful property!
We had a nice family trip at this house. The river was low because of the drought, but still enough to keep cool in and the kids loved the rope swing! Property was clean, comfortable and huge, which was nice since there were some of us with young kids and some without (they got to sleep away from the noisy kids, lol). Alan was a great host and communication was excellent. Looking forward to going back when river is up!
