The apt is very nicely furnished and so QUIET at night, we really appreciated that as well as the free parking space. Very close to the beach & strand. I brought my own bike but bike rentals were right next door. Lots of bars & restaurants just steps away. Perfect spot!

We were looking for a cool place to stay for a couple nights before out flight to Hawaii. This property was great! The location was perfect! Right around the corner from the beach and also very close to a great selection of restaurants. The area is very quant and has a very cool beach vibe. One downside was the parking was very tight but we did manage. Also, I wish they were able to block the morning light coming in from the kitchen. Other than those minor things, we truly enjoyed our stay and would come back.

It is quite literally maybe 50 steps from your door until your feet are in the Hermosa Beach sand. For me and my two teenage nephews, this is what it was all about. We could have stayed somewhere larger but all we needed was a roof, a kitchenette for breakfast and snack prep, a bathroom, and a place for three people to lay their heads at night. And that is absolutely what we got. The living/sleeping space is bright and clean with a nice TV. 6’4” teen slept on the futon with a fold down back and said it was very comfortable. We were going to use air mattress for the other teen but in the end we just shared the queen bed as the air mattress didn’t seem to hold its air. But two in the queen was fine and the queen had a quite comfortable mattress. After a day on the beach, there was a hose outside our unit H to wash down our feet or rented surfboard (one block over at Jeffers) and keep sand out of the unit. The kitchen and bathroom are quite tight, but I think that’s because unit H is shaped a little differently than the other which looked better from what we could see. The shower especially might be tough for a larger person to get into but didn’t affect us. The kitchen sink drained but owners said they’d look into that. It can be loud on a Fri or Sat night since you’re right near the Hermosa Beach nightlife but we all sleep soundly so didn’t bother us. The reserved parking is nice, although on a couple occasions when we came back, people that were likely in the surrounding restaurants and bars were parked in our spot which is a bit of a pain but not much the owners can do about people that ignore the signs. We parked in the rest of the paid lot without paying when that happened and never got a ticket. I think larger signage might help deter people from stealing the reserved spots. We rented bikes form the Hermosa Cyclery which is attached to the same building so super convenient for biking up and down The Strand to different places. Hermosa Beach seems quite safe and lively and even though you might not like that if you are an early to bed kind of person, I like the fact that there is a small harmless beach town liveliness happening. To me, that’s much better than quiet, isolated, and feeling unsafe. We always felt safe in Hermosa Beach. All in all, you’ll find the unit small but adequate and just remember that what you are really paying for is to be steps from The Strand, the beach and the Pacific Ocean!

The management company communicated both by email and text. Most of the communication was for their benefit, I.e. Rules, contracts, waivers. When I was trying to enter the property they hadn’t mentioned or provided the additional code needed to get into the gate to access the unit. I then began hunting through all their correspondence and vrbo info. I texted and called them and they responded in about 15 minutes or so. The total delay in entering was about 30 minutes, which was not enjoyable after a long day of travel. Upon entering the unit, there were 3 circuit breakers turned off on the electrical panel; one of which powered the kitchen lights and the refrigerator. So it delayed me being able to make dinner me and my daughter. The search for the electrical panel was difficult and the panel ended up being in the bathroom above the toilet and hidden behind a painting. It was labeled with a blue piece of masking tape. I had to figure this out myself. There also was a cricket inside the unit that was cranking away during the night. I contacted the owner with a video that clearly exhibited the cricket and how loud it was. They did not respond. It was a very nice place/location, however the problems outweigh that. Also I think the owners are more concerned with their rules than the user’s experience.

Perfect for our stay. Clean, easy check in, 20 steps from beach. Kitchen pots and pans needs some more - only one big frying pan, small sauce pan and larger pot. Refrigerator froze all our items. A bbq in the quad would be helpful. Would stay again.
