The house is situated on a beautiful lot with a man-made pond and apple orchards. The house itself is a little weary. Much of the furnishings are thrift store finds and could use some refreshing. We had issues with the WIFI right from the start and there is poor to no cellular service depending on where you are in the house. Communicating with a property management company was extremely frustrating as you are passed off from one representative to another as well as receiving multiple text messages from bots. We finally had wifi at 8 pm on our second night after the technician we were promised at 8 am was rerouted to other properties managed by Vacasa. They provided a refund of $76 for the inconvenience. The main living area has no heat. There is a woodstove, but we arrived after dark and there was no wood, kindling, paper, or a lighter to start a fire. We sat around bundled up on the first night because the temperature never went above 57 degrees. On the second night we found some wood in a shed on an adjacent property (there was no wood where the house instructions said there would be) and we had a nice fire. In spite of the hours (and that's not an exaggeration) spent on the phone with VRBO and Vacasa, we had an awesome weekend and got in some great runs at Pico.

This home was perfect for my siblings and our families to stay at on short notice for our Grandmothers funeral. It was the perfect size, there were plenty of beds and rooms. The land was beautiful. Be aware there are no curtains on the bathroom windows (BUT they face trees and land, we just had some teenage girls with us who didn’t care did that part), and as other reviews have stated, there are none in the bedroom with all the windows. We were there when it was in the 40’s, so no complaints about being too cold in that room for us.

The property was great and the property manager was extremely helpful. However there was a carpeter bee infestation in the roof and all the bees started coming into the house, which made it a safety issue and we had to get relocated. So it was not a good experience overall

This house is one in a million. It is so private and set back from the road that it feels like you're on your own island while you're there, and yet, a few minute drive down the road, and you have shops and things to do galore. The house is huge and fits 12 easily. The kitchen is fully stocked with not only plates and bowls and regular items, but with all of the little things and gadgets you're use to having in your own kitchen (can openers, ice cube trays, serving platters, drink pitchers and waaaay more). Nighttime stargazers will be in heaven here, because when the sun goes down and you turn the lights off, it's so dark that you can see galaxies. The pond on the property wasn't exactly swimmable while we were there because there seemed to be a lot of over growth of the filtering plants (most likely due to the unprecedented amount of heavy rain the area got the week prior to our arrival). However, bomeseen state park is 5 minutes down the road and has an awesome swimming beach. The outdoor shower on the property was probably my favorite thing. It had great pressure, awesome air flow, and such a beautiful view from inside of it. Best showers I've ever taken! The firepit was very large and the log benches were a cute addition to it. It was so peaceful sitting around the fire, staring up at the stars. All in all, our family had a wonderful time at the bluebell lake retreat and we definitely plan on making it an annual trip!

The property is beautiful; a pristine lawn with many apple trees, a sugar shack, swings and a tree house, a pond with parent geese and 5 goslings greeted us upon arrival. Our family was renting this property to attend our daughter’s graduation from Castleton University. The house was the perfect size for our group. It was clean and welcoming. Our only complaint is about the beds. In the room next to the upstairs bathroom, one of the beds had no box springs and was extremely uncomfortable and the other bed was missing a wooden piece of the bed frame. The downstairs mattress was also uncomfortably hard which made for a sporadic sleep. That being said, everything else about the property was wonderful and we had an amazing weekend! Thank you
