My entire family enjoyed our stay here! The views were great and the house was clean. We were even able to see a deer in the front yard multiple times. The walk down to the river would be difficult if you have issues with steep inclines or little kids. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house! Beautifully decorated and just the perfect amount of space for our large Family of 5 adult kids plus three spouses and grandkids. Property is beautiful. Kids and grandkids loved the hike down the trail to the river, and spent a good amount of time floating on the river. I (mom/grandma) did it once and that was enough. Coming back up was tough. The deck overlooking the river was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The deck facing the road was perfect for expanded dinner seating or evening drinks. King bed was as comfortable as my own and the kids reported that their beds were also very comfortable. My only criticism (meant to be helpful) is that there were a few expected essentials missing from the house. There were no kitchen towels and only one bathroom hand towel in the whole house. There also were not enough bowls for the kids morning cereal, or forks for more than a handful of people. All simple fixes.

This home is beautiful. It is spacious, clean, well-decorated, beautifully landscaped and conveniently situated on the Toe River. We (6 adults and 4 teens) spent our sunny days floating, fishing, roasting hot dogs and s’mores at the firepit, sitting in the shallows of the river, and watching the abundant wildlife that lives on the mountain and in the pond and river. On our rainy day we took in the local attractions, played board games, assembled jigsaw puzzles, and watched movies. A wonderful place for a family retreat! The only drawback for this home—and for us it was a big one--was a complete lack of internet and cellphone connection. Although internet, wifi, and Alexa are advertised on the site, there was no connectivity (which rendered the smart tvs non-functional), even for our myriad cell phones (no data coverage). We chose this home over another specifically because it advertised internet connectivity and wifi and we needed to work while we were there. We were warned the day before check-in that cloud cover may interfere with the internet intermittently and we were prepared to work around that, but we were not prepared for no internet at all. We made it work--and it is workable if you don't mind the driving down the mountain to Walmart or Ingles and you bring your own dvd player and movies (we did and highly recommend!)--, but we would have chosen differently had we known about the internet issue. We reached out to the hosts (from Walmart wifi) and they responded quickly and kindly, but were unable to remedy the situation in the time we were there. If the internet is up and running, I highly recommend this home. If you cannot do without internet for work, planning, family ties, etc., this might not be the place for you. If you want to truly get away and enjoy nature from the comfort of a lovely home and guaranteed internet isn’t necessary, you will LOVE everything about this beautiful cabin and grounds.

The property is beautiful, home very clean and was equipped nicely. Walk to the river was longer than expected but was a great location. We were without internet the entire stay which was fine for us but could be a problem for others
