I love the Empress! I managed to extend my trip to 14 days and loved my stay! The tour advisors were amazing and helpful for everything including finding me a pharmacy that carried my allergy medicine. Thx pool is fantastic and all the staff are very helpful! The breakfast is large meeting all needs.

The hotel was great except for one major factor! The internet didn't work for several days, despite my reporting it nothing was done to repair it and when they did attempt to repair it, it still didn't work. Everything else was luxury in the hotel.

The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast buffet was very good. It wasn’t as close as I would have wanted to some places, but it was easy to get a taxi or tuktuk. I would stay here again.

Excellent value with nice big rooms. Gym is underwhelming. 4 treadmills but only one that was in working condition. Breakfast was lacking a bit for me as it had few healthy options. I would have loved a granola option, with nuts, etc. I’m sure it would be fine for most people. The pool was very nice and the staff was excellent. For the price I think I got a good value despite a few shortcomings.

I chose The Empress Hotel Chiang Mai after my VRBO reservation was abruptly cancelled. The front desk staff were EEY WELCOMING and ACCOMMODATING from the onslaught. The empathy for my situation was deeply appreciated. The room was clean and calming. The staff gave me good information where to find something to eat and other things. Overall, I was extremely impressed and pleased with the service provided by the Empress and staff🙏

We have stayed at the Empress several times. Love the location, helpful staff, nice rooms. Unfortunately their breakfast has become even less American friendly. Choices include premade bits of waffle, mediocre omelette, or toast. Even the coffee was bad. Our group ate very little and we were very disappointed

The staff in the hotel are really nice and friendly. They helped us with out luggage and they check us in earlier. The hotel is a little bit outdated, but I guess they want to conserve the history of the hotel. We had a leak with the ac and they took care of the problem really fast. Recommended for tourist if the want to visit temples and go to old town.

An old hotel and isn’t maintained well.The carpet is old and the smell isn’t good .It looks like a good accommodation for tours to save money, with the same price there are many better hotels to choose .

My husband and I loved our stay at the Empress! Upon arrival we were upgraded to a premier room and gifted an amazing welcome package full of thai snacks that we enjoyed throughout our stay! The room was super spacious, and had beautiful modern decor with thai accents. The staff always greeted us with a smile and was super helpful. Close to all the night markets and shops! Pool, and buffet breakfast was amazing. If we ever come back to Chiang Mai, we would definitely stay here again without a doubt!

I was completely blown away when I reached the Empress Hotel and told that I had been upgraded to the Empress Premium Hotel. Then when checking in I was blown away again when told that I had been upgraded to a suite! Our room was the size of a large studio apartment with huge windows and a killer view from our 11th floor room. It appears as though the hotel is currently going through an overhaul as everything seemed brand new, clean and immaculate. The free gift basket of cookies, crackers, nuts, chocolate and fruit drinks was over-the-top and greatly appreciated. The free breakfast buffet was amazing, and the service staff was wonderful. They attended to my every need and made sure that I had hot, freshly made waffles done just the way I like them and brought me fresh squeezed orange juice and just made coffee each morning! I wish I could remember the name of the lady who attended to me so graciously each morning so I could thank her by name, but if she reads this review, I hope that she remembers me because I will always remember her for being so friendly and kind! The pool on the 5th floor was a bit on the murky side and tasted like salty chlorine, but was a great relief from the hot, humid days spent sight-seeing throughout the days. I hope to return to Chiang Mai and certainly hope to stay at the Empress Premium Hotel as soon as possible.
