The entire building smelled like cat pee and human pee, I don’t think animals are even aloud so that’s the confusing part. Our key didn’t work, after having it replaced 3 times, the worker came to open our door with a key. When we got in our a/c didn’t work, it was the middle of summer so obviously that isn’t going to be okay when you have an infant. The only positive thing I will say about this hotel is when we asked to get our money back the worker was nice, understanding and easy to talk to.

The shower didn't work in my room. Didn't find out till I was standing in it. Then was let in a different room to shower and I took a cold shower in there. It drained slower that the shower so water was up to my ankles. Went down for breakfast and everything was out of order except the toaster.

The entire place was dirty and run down. The pool was closed. Went to have breakfast, the waffle maker was broken and the juice machine was out of order also. Tried to at least have cereal, the milk was 10 days expired. The room floor was so dirty, my soles of my shoes were sticking to the laminate flooring. Obviously I will never stay here again.

This Econo Lodge in Hot Springs, SD is utterly disappointing! The hallways are filthy; the water doesn’t get hot; the swimming pool is closed due to faulty equipment; and the morning breakfast is a sad joke. Worst of all, the staff doesn’t even care. The girl who checked us in last night cited as though my presence was bothering her. She had absolutely no customer service skills! Stay away; stay far away from this dump when visiting Hot Springs.

There were dead bugs all over the floor. The bed was terrible. The room stunk. One of the workers barged in while we were in there without knocking. After this I didn't want to stay there. The receptionist said they could make it like I was never there and that I'd get a refund, however, I checked the next day on my account and I was still charged. I called and they refused to issue a refund due to their policy. 120 bucks for nothing. Very upset.

I loved that they welcomed my dogs and stayed for free. There is an enclosed dog park across the street!!! The staff was very welcoming and great breakfast. Rooms were clean, I would definitely stay here again. Great location to the black hills.

Close to Custer park and clean room. However room amenities were poor. Very basic furniture. No hair dryer, no in room coffee, only clock was on microwave, no place to charge phone. Heater smelled. Hall carpets dirty. Breakfast was cereal and milk or bagel and cheese or waffle and syrup. Rough if you are lactose intolerant. No yogurt or fruit.

Whole hotel had bad odor- stale cooking Rooms didn’t have everything in them- like enough towels or drinking cups or ice bucket liners. Usually no one at front desk - had to wait a lot

The check in took a while even though we were the only ones there. The lobby smelled bad. The bed were comfortable but the bathroom was not cleaned well at all. The breakfast offered was cereal, bagels and waffles.

Mattresses were my favorite part. It was just your average low end hotel. A little over priced in my opinion but it is what it is. Don't expect much out of the breakfast. Also beware of constant flies in the lobby during the summer time. Ignore the mildew smell.

The fire alarm was going off and the hotel smelled bad. Clerk said alarm only going off down stairs and not in floors with customers so I shouldn’t worry about alarm or smell. Then he tried to charge me $80 more than the price I registered for. He said the agreement they have with you means they can charge more. I left without signing in. I am very worried for the people sleeping unaware the fire alarm and smell downstairs that the clerk is not concerned about.

Nice place at a fair rate. Front desk helpful with a key issue we experienced at time of check in. Has excellent parking for large vehicles. Clean and quiet. Breakfast could have had better fruit selection. When they say breakfast ends a 9 they mean it all cooking , beverage machines and lighting shut off promptly hope you get enough drink to finish your meal

The beds are out dated and the most uncomfortable thing you’ve slept in. The hot water was there occasionally for a shower and the Oder of the whole building was sickening. And the a/c unit would not work

At check in tried to charge me again for the rooms even though I paid through Expedia. Whole hotel stunk like curry as the owner lives on the bottom floor. Because it was pet friendly it also reeked of wet dog and poop. Room was fairly clean but the lobby and breakfast area was subpar. Room also didn’t have a keycard but a metal key and lock.

The first thing you notice is the odor when you walk into the lobby door. The person at the check-in counter wasn't friendly but not rude either. The room was clean and the breakfast was fine. Paper thin walls or something because you can hear everything in the hallway from your room.

When we drove up it looked pretty nice. When I walked in, no one was at the desk, and this was in the afternoon. The lobby was hot. I had to use the phone and the man came right out. He was difficult to understand. The hallway to our room was not airconditioned or it was off, and the carpets were dark and needed a good vacuuming. We got to our room which was clean and cool. My bed squeaked every time I moved and I'm not that big,140lbs. The windows were closed but you could hear every car drive by. Either the breakfast area or the family that lived there were cooking, I could smell cooking food the minute I woke up. The price was good, all I wanted was a shower and a bed.

Staff was overall friendly and the room seemed clean. There was no hairdryer in the room and when I called the front desk to ask about it they hung up on me twice. Decent hotel for the price.

I don’t think this property is staffed or managed very well. I am sorry to say anything negative because I don’t usually. But I think they need to maybe not picked to be one of your places people are recommended to use. Sorry to say.

The lobby smelled like curry, the room was loud, and the room was not as clean. The light switches were caked with something and I really didn't want to use them. Continental breakfast was slim and hard to find things.

The air-conditioning did not work for my entire stay, all they offered was a fan not to move my room or anything. Breakfast is nonexistent, coffee was always gone matter what time I came. Entire place smells like a fast food restaurant even though no such place was close. I guess you get what you pay for but honestly I expected better, when I come back to Hot Springs to visit friends I won’t be staying here.
