Just an over night stay..with the family..

Air conditioning barely worked, the room was very hot. Room had so many ants everywhere we actually didn’t stay the whole time and left. Shower was so small we had to bend down to shower. There was random stains on the floor, and bedspreads. It smelled like pot, and it was so ghetto! Never again!

We have stayed here before and had a nice time. Not this time though. Off to a bad start as we had a mix up with room type and settled for something we did not want as there is a NO REFUND policy. You have to check in and out at at their other motel which is approx. one block away. There is no housekeeping staff anywhere to be found. We actually arrived and scrubbed the room down. Luckily we has supplies with us. If you want new bedding, towels, and essentials (including ice) you had to walk back to the other property. We will not return here next vacation. The checkin person was very unpleasant as well.

Everything was good at the motel. No issues at all except maintenance showed up without telling us and entered our room without us being there.

When we got into the room, it was full of gnats flies. We saw a roach on the floor which my toddler pointed out. Cleanliness is horrible in this motel. Definitely not something I was expecting and would never recommend to any one if you expect to have a nice clean stay.

We showed up to the hotel just to find out we had to go up the street to another hotel to check in. Only to find out that i now have to call or text a number to check in after 6, due to the ceck in office being closed. The room was ok but the bathroom had an odd smell and the toilet seat was all marked up. Loved the coviemce to the boardwalk,

Sandy shores and birds of paradise are great been staying here for over 15 years I know owner he is great guy keeps these places going great year after year

I kept reading reviews of upgrades.first getting door unlocked each time was challenging.second the ac was so loud when compressor kicked in.third the kids feet were black after 10 min walking on the floor.the beds were hard. The tub had no drain cover for kids to bath need to put a plastic cup in drain to fill tub.there were marks in ceiling an room was drab..the must have had the only room that wasn't updated. The blinds were nice.the pool was clean an nice.the location was great a block to the middle of the boards.the area was quiet.was a pain when drove up we had to go back down the street to check in an get room key.the outlet plug that was in the lamp to use wasn't securely in there so if you pulled on it it came out.we got exactly the number of towels we needed for people in room plus 2 washcloths in a bag on bed when we got there no floor towel for the tile floor in the bathroom.so sad.not sure where all the upgrades were.the person next to us said it took them a minute to get her door open also.

The room was in need of repair and the other people staying at the property were very loud all night an management refused to do anything. We checked out the next day and asked for a refund for our next night but the refused say there is a NO REFUND POLICY. Staff were impolite and even rude. Stay away from this property. Expedia was little to no help

It was great overall, it was hard to understand some of the workers due to broken English. Also, very limited parking even though you have a room there at the hotel it’s like first come first serve, when every room should have a parking spot.

was close too boardwalk but ice machine was down at other motel they own and room was dirty had to go buy towels because theres were so hard and a bath matt for the slippery tub

It was walking distance to beach. No housekeeping, floors remained sandy. Beds comfortable. Bad lighting in one area. But we were happy to get a place to stay.

Bird of Paradise has been taken over by Sandy Shores down the block. I had to go there to check-in. They handed me 4 towels which I had to walk with back to Bird of Paradise in the rain. The room floor was gritty (sandy I assume). The towel rack in the bathroom was missing. There were no other places to hold towels. There were two individually wrapped soaps on the sink. The shower worked well; as did the toilet and sink. The toilet had a no-slam lid which was nice. There was a tiny area to hang up clothing (no hangers) with a dusty shelf above. There was a small table and two padded chairs. The chairs were very nice and comfortable. The TV was hooked up to cable but only one channel worked...might have been the remote control but there were no employees available with batteries or to help. The mini fridge was clean and worked very well. The microwave worked as it should. The ac unit kept our room cool. The door had a nice additional lock on it, but the screws were tiny so it probably would not do much good against a break-in. The door also had a half inch gap under it and every time the neighbors smoked on the balcony it came in through the gap. We ended up rolling up a towel at the door. The beds were good enough for us, but not that comfy or anything spectacular. There was an end table and it had a lamp on it. The lamp had electrical outlets on the base. That was perfect for charging cell phones. The pool was cloudy. We will never stay there again.

Parking was a nightmare the lot at the hotel was full we had to pay for parking $25 for every 12 hours so we spent $200 in parking. Not one time was there a sight of housekeeping, no towels no trash pick up no one to sweep the sand or dirt off the floor and no one to even ask a question to. Even when we checked out just dropped a key in a box, it was like a self run hotel with no one around to help with anything. Nice location and wouldn’t be so bad if someone was taking care of it.

We had a nice time there. Very convenient to boardwalk and food spots. Only issue I had was we were on the third floor and I have a bad back and a hard time with steps. But I would definitely stay there again

Omg. If you can afford the extra $50 a night somewhere else please go. We arrived at 3pm parking was tight. Go to the office to check in it was closed. Sign said go to sandy shores office. I walked a block to their office to check in. Was handed 3 towels to take back with me. Got back to our room we were all the way on the end. Our view from our window was a storage closet door. The hotel was dirty our room had large cracks in the walls. The one bed was broken everytime you moved it made a very loud creaking. They were sold out they said so I could not switch rooms. Maybe that is were they put the Expedia discount guests. There was no maid service I had to text the clerk at sandy shores to bring us toilet paper. For 2 days there was a huge pile of dirty towels and sheets at the bottom of the steps. There is no staff on site so they leave it up to the guests to keep the pool clean. The location was good a block from the boardwalk but I will never put my family in a place like that again. I tried to save $100 but you get what you paid for. Don't try to check in early they had a sign that they charge $50 for early check in.

First of all the mattress sunk in the online pictures were not listed how the place was. No cleaning Of the room until check out. Had to buy towels and wash rags. No venta in the bathroom.

I stayed for only three days and for it being a last minute trip it was a nice stay. It’s soo close to the boardwalk as well so if there was anything we needed we easily went back to the room. Overall was a great stay

Tv didnt work first night 1 outlet for entire room Towels were so old they were like paper Room was not fully cleaned.... However... staff (admittedly understaffed but out of their control) were extremely kind and helped the best they could... im sure once they can fully staff... the experience should improve
