About this house rental
The Ponderosa is a 6 BR, 4 bath family home. It is spacious, indoors and out, ideal accommodations for families. Within walking distance you will find a running trail, the school track, and the Mason tennis courts. It is 1/2 mile from the Historic Mason Square, Fort Mason, and Seaquist House. Enjoy the comforts of home and the community.
The space
The house has a master bedroom that has a connected master bathroom and a Split King Bed.
On one side of the house there are two bedrooms with one having a king bed in it and the other has two twin beds. There is a bathroom on this side as well.
The other side of the house has two bedrooms that each contain a queen bed. There is also a bathroom with these bedrooms. These bedrooms also each have their own vanity sink area.
Down stairs, there is another spacious bedroom that has a king bed along with a love seat and chair with an ottoman. There is an attached bathroom that has the only bathtub in it. This bathroom also opens up to the hallway for downstairs use and pool guest use.
Downstairs also contains a formal dining, living space, kitchen, in kitchen dining, and access to a large porch area and the pool.
There is a wrap around porch on the lower level and two balconies on the second floor. One balcony gives a great view of the pool area.
Guest access
There is a large front yard area and circle drive that provides ample parking for many. The school is across the street and during school zone hours it is a one way street flowing West to East. The house can be approached from Reagan Street on the West Side. Please do your best to not park on the grassy area. No Crypto mining.

The house is large and intriguing. The largest bedroom is en suite on the top floor. Then down a half story (?) two bedrooms with a bath on one side and two more bedrooms with a bath on the other side. Plus a “chute” to the laundry room which fascinated the teens. On the main floor is the big dining room, well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and another bedroom with adjoining bath. Great for someone with knees as the two staircases have a couple of angled treads. (Rest of the family was fine, at 80 I took the main floor bedroom but did use the stairs a couple of times.)Eight of us from 18 to 80. While I would not bring young children, especially toddlers due to the pool and the stairs, it was great for us. Everyone had space when they wanted it, yet room to be all together too. Lovely pool which is Texas sun warmed but still refreshing. Everything was better than expected. So there was minimal contact with the owner which was promptly answered. Next time we come I’d like to meet Paula to learn the history of the house.

Large house with many rooms/beds to choose from helped my large party decide where to stay. All the kitchen ammenities allowed for many cooks in the kitchen! The back patio and pool was definitely the favorite hang out! As long as you dont mind the bird nests right above you, and the birds flying in and out at high speeds! Our weekend was very enjoyable! (Might update the website photos...there is not a second room with a table.) Loved the house host, she is most helpful in a moments notice!
