Would stay with Mr Herman and Karen if I come back to Kingston

Herman and his crew git good reviews for a reason. I think they try their best which is nice. I was picked up at the Knutsford express station on time by Mr Herman. He is a pleasant man and a good guide and talker. You are close to the Kingston Harbour. I walked down every morning. Ate off the street vendors. I enjoyed my morning walks in the downtown town area. The old and new exist together. Just like the rich and poor. The museum’s are close by. Of course Peter Tosh and Bob Marley exhibits are close as well. They supply water from the community fridge and they also have instant coffee and tea for you to enjoy. You have your own little fridge in your room as well. My bed was terrific and linen, towels were top notch. Herman and his team are renovating an older Jamaican hotel. The out side is being worked on. The Texico across the road has good take out. Ice cream bars. Along with home made sweet potato pie. Chocolate cake. It is all around you in this location. Enjoy downtown Kingston.

Noise. There is no real noise problem, unless it is from one of the other guests. Street noise drops after 9 pm, you are in the downtown area in kingston. I was surprised how quiet it gets at night. There air con works well.

Exactly what I need for a short business trip

The property delivered everything that was promised. It was as pictured on the site. It was clean and I felt comfortable and secure during my stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. 9/10 would recommend.

A nice and short staying in Kingston Town :)

The staff was just amazing, friendly, and happy to accommodate fully our requests, including changing the room with the window for a different one without any window, after we could not sleep much due to the loud music on the street in the very first hours of the morning (of course it is not the owner's fault, rather it's the Jamaican love for the music :D). The rooms are cozy and the bed absolutely comfortable, the place is super clean. The structure has an efficient level of security, with an electric gate and cameras around it. You can park your car on the street in front of the gate. The communication was superb, it was simply all good. Thanks a lot for your hospitality <3

I did not feel particularly safe in Kingston DownTown and Kingston overall, therefore I would recommend at a certain point to return to the apartment, somewhen after sunset, because especially if you do not know Kingston, you never know what can happen to you at night. There are plenty of places where you can buy your food and eat in your room so that you can enjoy your staying (for instance the Chinese Restaurant nearby was our choice)

The best option moneywise in downtown Kingston

good downtown location, good value, all very clean and tidy. Good air-con, and security. Helpful staff and laundry service available.

certain weekdays it might be a bit noisy from the busy street traffic, ask for rooms on your left after the stairs.

Quaint and comfy

The location was not that great however the room was beautiful and the property was gated so we felt very safe and comfortable the host was very nice.

Felt very welcomed , the staff was helpful, the location is great especislly if you want to experience downtown. There was tea/ coffee and water which added a very nice touch. You can see they put effort into the place it felt very welcoming and its at a very good price.

I was quite surprise to see how this was like any other hotel. It has all the amenities that you expect a corporate hotel to have. I was extremely pleased.

Clean, comfortable bed, good downtown location, very helpful hosts, not too noisy, excellent security, good air conditioning.

Our room had no exterior window because our bathroom was between the bedroom and the street. However, this helped to shield the bedroom from street noise.

Being downtown Kingston was convenient for our business trip as we were centrally located. We felt completely safe and well attended to by all of the wonderful staff at Chillin at Duke. The room was spacious and spotless. Chillin at Duke is definately our new go to spot when we travel to Kingston.

if you want to stay closer to downtown, then this is the best choice for it. walking distance to the national art gallery, the jamaica institute and the old market area. also a few vegan and vegetarian options nearby. karen and herman are amazing hosts. a very warm and generous couple who would go out of their way to make sure you have a good time.

it's close to a busy intersection, which might bother some who would prefer somewhere more quiet. but it's nothing too uncommon for those used to living in busy tropical cities.
