About this villa rental

Permit #DSTR0821P This home LX20 is located in a private lake front community. Please be respectful of the locals that call this specials place home. This home is warm and inviting with some old Tahoe charm. There are many stairs in this home. Please keep this in mind. It is a tall home with amazing views. A creek runs along side the home in the spring and early summer you will hear it as you walk up to the home. This creek flows down to the private beach that is directly in front of this home. It is a sandy beach with a little swimming cove perfect for kids of all ages. Right next to it is a private HOA beach for the locals. We have kayaks at the property for you to use at your own risk. The paddling along these shores is amazing. Inside LX20 there is something for everyone one. We have a cozy kitchen with high callings and a large window that looks out into the trees. There is a new electric cook top. The kitchen has just about everything you will need to cook a nice meal for the family. On the lower deck we have BBQ for grilling out after a day of fun on the lake. After some grilling come inside and take a soak in the large tiled hot tub where you can watch the sunset. There is also a game room with bar for hanging out with friends. Play some pool while your friend pretends to be a bartender. So many good times to be had here. 5 bedrooms are located on the top floor. There is one bedroom at entrance level for guests that might not want to walk up stairs. The primary bedroom has the best view to wake up to or fall asleep to. Before bed go out on the deck and watch the stare before, you might get lucky and see a shooting star. The Tahoe sky is amazing. In the primary bedrooms there is a bathroom with a large soaking tub and sperate shower. The other bedrooms are located down the hall from the master bedroom. 2 of the other bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The other 2 share a bathroom. See the floor plan in the photo gallery. This home has radiant heat that works great, it has well water and very limited parking. 1 car in the garage 2 in the driveway That is all. No AC we can bring portable units but with this home being on the lake you get that cool lake air at night. It is surrounded by tall trees as well that keep is shaded all day. It really does not need AC. Tahoe never gets that hot and at night the temperatures drop down 20 degrees. It really is a specials place. This home is the perfect Summer get away. We loved our stay at the LX20 home. It was very clean and the space was lovely with windows providing surrounding views of trees, sunlight, mountains and of course, Lake Tahoe. There are finishes that are dated and worn, but the large bedrooms, huge game room, beautiful hot tub and access to the beach make it very comfortable and a special place we would happily revisit. One caveat: this house has, I think, five floors, so it is not for anyone who can't do stairs.

No notes. Exactly as advertised. Julio and Zorka were fantastic to work with. I appreciated their flexibility on check in and check out to accommodate my last minutes travel changes. I highly recommend this property and the whole Luxevaca team. Overall, a professionally run rental company and beautiful spot on the lake. Would book again. 5/5

A spacious home with amazing views! Closest to the lake as you can get! Family fun for all ages on your private sand beach! We had one of our most memorable family friendly vacations at this property! Julio, our contact, was just fantastic with his communication for our entire stay. He even dropped off an electric pump! The home has a very large deck with fire pit and gas grill to watch the glorious sunsets off the lake. The property is complete with 3 Kayaks, life vests and be sure to bring a pump to inflate the many lake tubes and toys. After the sun goes down, enjoy a round of pool, soak in the indoor jacuzzi or make s'mores on the deck. Only a short drive from the South Tahoe action of restaurants and casinos! This is a tall home with many steps to get to the different levels.

This is a one-of-a-kind property. The views are spectacular, everyone was very comfortable as there is a lot of space, and it feels very private. The drive to South Lake Tahoe where all the stores and restaurants are is short and pretty. Last second there was an issue with some amenities that was out of the owner's control but they handled it promptly and professionally. I would definitely recommend the house and would come back for an another family trip.

Overall, our group had an enjoyable stay. But not without some concerns regarding amenities, cleanliness, and safety. After so many days of our stay, many deficiencies became very evident and left us to wonder if deeming it as a "luxury" home is a little misleading. THE GOOD: Amazing views of the lake from all four levels of the house. Appreciated the spaciousness, beach access, and kayaks. Kitchen had more cooking supplies than expected. Very peaceful area and having the private beach was highly valued during a very busy Tahoe summer. Lots of levels to the house made it easy to get quiet time within the home. Enjoyed the pool table. Julio was the nicest, most kind host and we really appreciated him so much and he deserves a raise for what he probably has to deal with on an ongoing basis from guests. Overall the home is quite beautiful and it was a special treat to stay there. THE BAD: Need a couple more kayak paddles (there was only one). Broken turn knob on washing machine - still functional but takes some guesswork on determining the setting. Screens are damaged on windows throughout the house. Pinball machine was not working. BBQ on the cobblestones by the water was completely useless and destroyed which was a disappointment (BBQ on deck worked so at least we had that). Could do a better job with the shower curtain for the master bathroom - was not "luxury". Fridge door in the kitchen does not close all the way and you have to really push it shut - this makes it an issue to keep the fridge at a proper temp. Better signage to find the exit road from Hwy 50 would be helpful especially at night, and if coming northbound on Hwy 50 to the house, it is too easy to miss the turn as well as a huge risk of being rear-ended while waiting to make the left on to the access road. Overall the home is very outdated but still charming - just needs a really good deep cleaning and maybe some minor updates throughout (please replace the washing machine). THE UGLY: Hot tub jets were malfunctioning and we could not use the hot tub as intended (you could do a communal bath/human soup scenario but that's not what we were looking forward to, which was disappointing because the room itself is really cool). Hot tub issue was a disappointment as it is a "marquee" amenity. Huge smelly barf stain in one bedroom in the bathroom area - it was on carpeting and the smell was horrific and it looked disgusting. Missing rocks on the cobblestones leading from lower deck to water - guests were cutting their feet on the sharp edges of the concrete as a result. There was also no bannister along the cobblestone stairs which was a huge safety hazard if someone fell and was unable to brace themselves as they descended the stairs. Weakened railings along stairs and deck in various places, and in some cases exposed rusty nails. Parking is a HUGE issue here and needs to be emphasized more in the listing - was trying to park my car and gave courtesy to the neighbor to pass instead of waiting while I tried to park in the designated area and she took it upon herself to rip me a new one based on the issues she had with previous guests which was terribly unpleasant to experience, then nearly hit my car as she angrily passed me to park despite having the entire road to pass (she later apologized but it was still a *huge* negative experience). Somehow the morning after 4th of July the hot tub repair team showed up completely unannounced and proceeded to run the hot tub jets and leave the entire floor covered in standing water up to the floor heater - they were told they could come but no one notified us that they were coming (very disruptive after a late 4th of July night). On the external second deck we found a ring surveillance system in operation and our privacy felt a little violated (though we were doing nothing wrong it just felt really weird to discover and not have it mentioned). Light bulb on one of the porches was out - was going to replace it ourselves but the insulator around the socket was missing which is a possible shock point where someone could get electrocuted if they try to mess with the bulb. It's so sad to see such a beautiful home allowed to fall into disrepair. Please, please take the home offline to address some of the critical issues. This house could be so much more enjoyable if it were restored to its heyday and critical safety issues addressed.

Staff was great house was not worth the money. When you rent a cabin on Lake Tahoe, you expect it to be top-of-the-line.

We enjoyed the amenities, but it could have been cleaner. It needed more trash bags, some light bulbs werent working. Blankets were tossed in closet and we did not know if they were clean or not. Some sheets looked like they weren't clean.

Location is amazing!!! The views are spectacular from the cabin overlooking the lake. However we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin and how very outdated it was overall. It wouldn’t take much to clean out drawers & update the decor. Once we settled in, we had a lot of fun here. Julio was incredibly helpful answering any questions we had & very quickly responded.
