We had a lovely weekend stay at Tortue in a Grande Double Room, which was very spacious and included a comfortable sitting area. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were a little flimsy. The bathroom was on the smaller side, with a shower over the bath; and the towels felt quite thin.
The décor throughout the hotel is stylish, with a dark and moody atmosphere that we really liked. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and the complimentary drink on arrival was a nice touch.
There were a couple of minor drawbacks. The air conditioning was quite weak, so we needed to open the windows to cool the room down. Unfortunately, our room overlooked the main street, so it could be quite noisy with traffic.
The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breakfast. I don’t say that very often, but it was exceptional. There was a great selection of à la carte dishes, all freshly prepared to order, and everything we tried was of superb quality and absolutely delicious. The breakfast service was good too - friendly, efficient and attentive.
My partner particularly loved staying at Tortue, and overall we had a wonderful stay. We would definitely come back.
