I liked the food menu and that it was very reasonably priced.

A bit tough lugging up a suitcase up the stairs. The bathroom could have been a bit more tidy and the room got quite hot and I had to ask the staff twice to turn on the aircon. Also, this location can be easily confused with the single rooms Grandma Lu which is located in Japan Town.

I booked to stay here for 4 nights in a 4 person dorm. On the first night I noticed something strange going on in the room, someone in the room kept shining their phone light and someone woke up very startled in the early hours and screamed. On the second night at 2am the phone light starts again this time in my bed from the bunk above me. At around 3am the person above me dropped something on the floor, and within a few minutes I saw his arm reaching into my bunk, trying to take my phone. I flinched and opened the curtain and swore at him asking what he was doing. He mumbled and went back to bed. I didn't sleep for the rest of the night and saw him trying to look into the bunks again with his phone torch. Obviously I didn't sleep for the rest of the night knowing my belongings weren't safe and knowing someone was happy to invade my personal space in the room was very unsettling. He was a small skinny man, I could have easily of broken his arm but he was happy to take any risk necessary to steal. At 5am I told the hostel, and I wrote to them on their website and I told booking.com. I vacated the room that day and paid extra to go and sleep in the hostels sister hotel that had private rooms. Meanwhile the stealer was allowed to continue to stay there and I was the one who had to move out. P.S. the AC doesn't work in this room either, so it's boiling hot. This was a blessing for me because I couldn't sleep. If I did sleep I would have woken up with no phone. The disappointing thing about all this is the hostel did nothing, and booking.com have done nothing. I was the one who had to move out of the room and pay extra to go and get a private room and no refund offered for the days I had left so I still paid for my bed in the room where the thief was allowed to stay and continue his phone light shining into peoples beds and reaching in. My advice, don't stay here and go and get a private room in HCMC. Not a nice experience at all.

Excellent service at the reception

This is a good hostel but it does not look as good as the pictures. It looks quite run down. It feels like pictures were taken ten years ago. The mattress is comfortable, there is hot water in the shower. Toilets and showers are clean. They provide towels and shoes. There is a hair dryer.

The area next to the bathroom sinks was always wet and dirty. When you leave the shower and you want to use the sinks, there is no place to put down your things, no hangers. The room is loud because of the loud AC and the street noises. There is no common area. There are a couple of tables next to the sandwich place but it is soo loud and not comfortable at all. The corner with the washing machine is always dirty, and the washing machine is very loud. I would not want to pay the full price, but booking.com gave me a very nice price. a lot of stairs as everywhere in HCMC.

The breakfast was not included but the banh mi served by the hostel were cheap and really good. The hostel also organizes day trips to the Mekong, Cu Chi tunnels, etc, very practical when you don't have much time. Beds confortable, wifi ok, great location.

The cleanliness of the bathrooms is the negative aspect to be stressed. The hostel provides slippers that are unfortunately necessary for taking a showing (hair, blisters on the floor). Soundproofing limited in the bedrooms

Location was good.

Shower room was bad, can’t even lock the door properly.container of the shower gel was so hard to get the gel out . The locker on the floor was so dirty. I had to put my baggage on my single tiny bed with me.

The breakfast was good. I was not sure how the latte would taste , but I was pleased with the quality and service.

I think the sheets need to be rinsed well after a wash. I noticed an odor of leftover soap.

The housekeeping woman came in the room in the morning to dry clothes and woke up everyone .

The beds were spacious with enough locker space for personal items and rucksacks. The also have balcony facing the road, the bathrooms are clean. There's a banh mi store on the ground floor, where you can taste amazing stuffed bread.

The walking space in the room is narrow, but it's ok as the beds are quite spacious.

I stayed only one night, and there was no water in a whole hostel from the night before until 9am the next day. Imaging you have to survive together with everybody without water in shared bathroom and everybody need to go tolet.....It was soooo bad.

Friendly staff, there's a Banh Mi in the lobby, which is convenient for dining here. The bread is delicious, the hostel is clean, suitable for solo travelers. This place has all the necessary amenities and free Wi-Fi coverage everywhere.

Smelly urine and B.O, reeking towel I was given upon check in. I asked to switch towels , which was dutifully given, but that had a bad odour to it also! So l dont think they wash linen and towels properly after uses. Water temperature in the showers is Russian roulette. The majority of the time, water is barely lukewarm Dirty towel rags they use as mats in toilets. Have a foul and damp odour lingering in the air. If you have a lot/ heavy luggage, it's best not to book this place as no lift. You have to walk up 4 flights of steps! Don't let them do your laundry! You will get back creased and damaged clothes! No common area. Camera Inside of dorm room? AC has room too cold ! The key card fob never worked, so I had to manually enter code each time.

They promised that will have water just in 1-2 hours, but definitely until 11 AM of the next day. They said that they will fix the locker for me but….. I stayed here many times, but this time really dissatisfied
