Expensive golden cage, managed by an unresponsive agency.

The house itself is beautiful, well decorated and well equipped.

We rented a condo to be more relaxed and have more space, especially with the aim of enjoying the company of other family members and friends that live in the Playa area. This condo is in an exclusive, gated and secure area, therefore it's quite expensive compared to other accomodation options in that area (for example a hotel). After this experience, I don't thing it's value for money. If we would have stayed in a hotel, people can come and visit and stay for coffee or be at the pool. The management of the rental is done via a company which are not the owners. They manage the payment and they process your access. The access is granted with a bracelet, but only for the people staying at the condo. None of our visitors were allowed entrance, it was very uncomfortable. The rental agency was unresponsive, they never responded to my calls, they didn't solve the issue with the administration of Playacar. When we raised the issue, the security manager called the police on us! Very aggressive, not reasonable at all. It spoiled our whole visit. The security agent doesn't care that you are a tourist and want to relax, he is full military gear, yelling at everyone. Couldn't care less about the customer experience. Visiting the beach was also an issue, you can't access the beach with a car, not even to drop off things or people, because that condo has no beach access with a vehicle. Both my elderly parents had to walk in 36°C, there's nothing at the beach either. So, do yourself a favour and book at the hotel at the beach of Playacar, you won't have any issues with beach access, services at the beach, visitors and you'll probably pay less!
