About this cottage rental
Amazing garden district charmer build in 1938 and beautifully renovated! Getaway Cottage is centrally located 8 minutes from winning casinos & walking distance to the lake, seawall, downtown, restaurants, stores, and historic Lock park. Perfect location to be close to Mardi Gras activities and parade. Also enjoy Lagunas Mexican Grill and Cantina, OB's Bar and Grill, and 121 Artisan Bistro close to the cottage. Helen's Street Bakehouse offers freshly baked breads and cookies daily. Enjoy fully stocked kitchen / bath amenities provided. Sip a cup of Joe or glass of wine on the front porch, while relaxing from a day at the beach. No smoking/ vaping and no drug use allowed. No parties. 1 small dog allowed with approval and pet fee. Not child proofed for safety, so please no children under the age of 12 y/o. We welcome questions. We hope to be your hosts soon while adventuring out in Lake Charles!

The Getaway Cottage is very well kept clean and very roomy. The property is modern and nicely decorated. My brother went with us he like it very much. He also liked the magazine provide. Its been the best RBB we been to. The only thing if you use Uber it takes a while to get one.

My sisters ,niece and I just stayed at the “Getaway Cottage “… couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay! It was perfect for the four of us.. I’ve stayed in quite a few Vrbo.. have never had one so well appointed with anything you would need to make your stay comfortable…check In was a breeze and Cathy was always checking to see if we needed anything! We were only a couple miles to shopping or places to eat…we will be back for sure!

Great Property, Best house we have stayed at in Lake Charles area at that price range. (Have been going twice a year for years, using VRBO for the last few). Well stocked with a private area to Park your Car(s).

It was a perfect situation for our annual golf trip. We played 4 courses in four days and ate drank and gambled until we couldn't stand it any more. The House and the Host were exceptional. it had everything we could need and a nice quiet area close to everything. It was well stocked and well appointed. It even had a large number of hangers for clothes in every closet.(a great detail.) If we decide to come back I look forward to booking this listing again. This could be a great spot to launch more adventures . I would love to give it 12 stars but your scale doesn't go that high. Thanks

This Gettaway Cottage was impeccably finished, clean and beautiful. Check in was easy and the host worked with us when she found out we would be arriving a few hours before check in. It's located 4 min away from the Civic center and there are many places to eat/drink within 10 min from the house. Great Stay and we WILL be booking again!

This property was a delightful, well appointed property with excellent communication with Cathy. Property was well stocked with amenities and little extras, which was most appreciated. Cottage was clean, roomy and safe. We were able to park and sit in carport/back yard behind a closed fenced/gate. Thank you munchies.

Excellent overall experience. Cathy was a great host providing outstanding communication. The house was very clean, well appointed with all needed supplies and good location. Our family was in town for our child's sporting event which we expect to do more of over the coming years and we plan to stay at this house for those trips.

Cathy was an amazing host, and her house was adorable! The decor was perfect, in fact I wish my home was that cute! It was also spotless and had everything we could have dreamed of needing. The little touches she does to make you feel welcome and special are second to none. If you have kids, the back yard has a privacy fence, and she even has a soccer ball for it. The coffee bar has everything you need and more. The beds are very comfortable and so are the chairs and couches in the living room. It is a safe and secure home. Cathy was very helpful and thoughtful. I will need to travel to Lake Charles in the future and I will always stay here! Thank you, Cathy, for being an amazing host!
