A great place for families to get together. Plenty of bathrooms for everyone. Great view of the lake and mountains. Kids will love the bunk room. Highly recommend

the property was very Nice we enjoyed the stay. the Driveway very scary going up and down was rain and two of our trucks had a hard time getting up the drive. had to lock in 4x4.

We had a really great time staying here. We enjoyed the canoe and kayaks.
The paddle boat was a bit wonky and we had to fix it out on the lake and the one of paddle boards had an air leak but overall it was a Great trip.

Really nice property with lake access and several great decks for relaxing with loved ones. Didn't use fire pit or grill but they both appeared well maintained as was the home. Thanks to Derek for blessing our family with a much needed getaway for my wife's birthday.

This home provided ample space for our group to gather for a family holiday getaway. The open living and dining room with its lake overlook were perfect. The morning sunrises over the lake were gorgeous. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

We were a group of four women in our 60’s, reuniting for our annual girlcation. This home and location were perfect. Inside of the house was absolutely beautiful and very clean - but the decks were not, and three of the upper deck chairs quite nearly flipped us over backwards when we sat down in them - dangerously so. But after we decided not to use either of the decks, and went down to float on the water, everything was perfect. Truly serene and beautiful. Visiting inside the home in the evenings really couldn’t have been any better. A very lovely, lovely home and location.

The Nordy Nest was amazing!!! So nice, so much space, so peaceful!! It was just perfect!! My only regret was we didn’t take off more time to stay longer!

Beautiful home with ample space and comfortable beds with lots of different nooks for your enjoyment. Loved the sunroom overlooking the lake. We loved our family time with great meals, lots of laughter, and good night’s sleep. The men also enjoyed fishing off the pier.

We rented this property for a family get-together. The house easily and
comfortably accommodated 5 adults and 4 kids. The kitchen was well appointed
with ample cooking and serving items along with a variety of basic spices,
and there were a few basic condiments in the refrigerator as well. We
appreciated the Keurig but there is a drip-type maker for those who prefer
that style. Plenty of towels were available for bathing and drying off after
a dip in the lake. The dining room table off the kitchen was large enough
for everyone to sit together for meals. We spent most of our time outdoors
but everyone had fun showcasing their pool skills on the table upstairs when
we were inside. The upper deck was spacious with plenty of seating for
breakfast each morning. The covered dock was perfect for fishing, watching
the kids in the lake, and passing time while we weren't in the water. The
lake is shallow around the dock but deep enough for lazy floating and use of
the kayaks and paddle board on property. Many fish were caught, none large
enough to keep but certainly sufficient to keep us trying. The owner was
great to work with throughout the entire process and uber responsive to all
messages. Highly recommend this property--we'll definitely rent again given
the opportunity!

Perfect for our family of grandchildren, (toddler, tween & teen) adult children and us. Separate living areas allowed for them to stay up as long as they wanted and made full use of dock and swimming area.

We had a difficult time initially getting in touch with the owner, but once communication was established it went well. The house was very clean and nice. The property was exactly as described. We enjoyed the lake and access to the boats, etc provided by the owner. If I had one compliant it was about the trash. There was a lot of trash in trash cans in the garage that began to smell. One trash can was emptied by the trash service while we were there (after we hauled several trash cans up a big hill to the trash pick up spot and back down again the next day) BUT there remained several more cans with what smelled like more than one weeks worth trash that remained even until the moment checked out. (The smell the trash reached the kitchen even when all the doors were closed.)

Loved the Nordy Nest!!! Plenty of space for our parties to spread out & the house was well stocked in the kitchen & linen department. The views that you wake up to are amazing & all of the outside space is so serene! Having 24-7 access to the kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, & dock was amazing & kept the kids busy! Only issue was the pool/hot tub. It was listed in the description amenities & was clear that it was part of the clubhouse; however, it wasn’t specified that non-members pay per use & for a family of 5 it was $35/time we went. Probably not an issue during summertime, but for spring break the lake was still cool & we were hoping to use the pool more. Description should specify that a payment is necessary. Would not deter me from booking again, just would aim for summer months!

Our family chose Nordy’s Nest due to its beauty, proximity to the lake and Ron Coleman’s Mine.
The house and grounds were immaculately beautiful. There wasn’t a room that didn’t have a more peaceful view. Derek greeted us when arriving and made sure everything was perfect for us. Unfortunately, there was a little problem with the gas running out and we were without heating or hot water for 24 hours during the freeze. Derek offered us a relocation to either a hotel room or another of their houses with an addition for an extra night with no charge. He was mortified! Derek offered to refund a night due to this. We were unable to accept the free night due to prior commitments and expected hazardous winter conditions. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen the refund as of yet and it’s been 5 days, each day promising that it will be completed.
The reason for 3 stars on Communication with Management is due to
The inability of keeping someone’s word. He stated he would be there when the propane arrived. On the second day of waiting, the propane arrived, Derek wasn’t there-we handled it via our phone to the propane driver and yes, still awaiting the promise of refund.

We live in Hot Springs and just wanted to get out of the city and relax and this was exactly what we needed. The pictures do not do the property justice as the home is absolutely gorgeous and the view phenomenal. We hope to return in the fall.

My wife and I spent some time at the house for my birthday and had an amazing trip! Got in plenty of great hiking at the nearby state parks and national park, and enjoyed exploring Hot Springs Village as well.
The house was exactly as described, and very comfortable. The sunrises off the balconies were incredible! Would rent this place again in a heartbeat, definitely recommend it.

The owner made it easy . Home beautifully decorated for the holidays made it so cheerful for us to celebrate. Home well stocked clean and inviting. The dock canoes and paddle boat was a fun addition to the fishing and family time. Only negative was for some reason I thought there was a hot tub outside. They did have a jacuzzi bath that my grand daughter just Loved. Wonderful time at the Norty Nest. I would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful home nestled in the trees overlooking lake Cortez. Perfect space for gathering with friends - lots of room for everyone to spread out. The most well-stocked vacation home we've ever rented - plenty of gear for enjoying the lake, as well as plenty of linens, kitchen and household essentials made our stay comfortable and convenient. Loved gathering around the outdoor fire pit. Downstairs wet bar made a great snack zone for the kids. Derrick was helpful and very accommodating. We would love to come back and highly recommend!

Really beautiful place, pretty convenient to Hot Springs. Loved having the boats, rather than just a dock as so many other houses offered. The driveway was so steep that my wife always took the stairs! It took some getting used to but it was fine in the end. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us - easily would have fit more.

We enjoyed Hot Springs Village and staying at the Nordy Nest. It was a great house with lots of space for 4 families to stay in with a great view of the lake. Very clean with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. A baby gate was also provided, but was a little wobbly. There are 2 good sized decks with tables, a bbq grill, and even a gas firepit on the upper deck. However, the spindles were older and far apart enough that we had to have an adult on the deck when the almost 1 and 3 year old were out there. For the lake, the owner provided kayaks, a paddle board, a paddle boat, a canoe as well as lots of floats which our family enjoyed and used. Lake Cortez and the neighborhood were quiet the week we spent in July. There is a steep driveway down to the house, and steep access with steps alternating with flat areas down to the dock, but both were able to be navigated by all. It's a beautiful lot with lots of shade and trees. The owner was very nice, helpful, and interested in making our stay a good experience. The house was in a good location to get to golfing, the grocery stores, churches, swimming, and a playground. We recommend the Nordy Nest!

This is a beautiful house and very well maintained. I have never seen a vacation rental as well stocked as this one and we have traveled this way a great deal. The owner is great and really takes care of his guests. We had a wonderful vacation and would come back again. One note for people viewing this: If you have accessibility issues, this home may be difficult. It is two level and the path to the lake can be challenging. This is not a negative review of the home in any way. Just a note for people that are mobility challenged.

This home was more beautiful in person than in the photos and offered something for everyone! We caught 30 pounds of catfish and loads of brim right from the dock! They kayak, canoe and paddle board offered hours of entertainment for grown ups and the kids. We left the house once during our stay to dig for crystals and the kids were begging to go back to the house within an hour. The house is also fully stocked and has everything you could possibly need. We will definitely be back! The host is also amazing and checked on us throughout our stay, was available to answer questions and was flexible with last minute changes!! Wonderful home with a wonderful host!!!

Our visit to Nordy Nest started just as the Covid-19 "social distancing" began. This was the perfect house and location to be staying. With two living areas, a sun room, decks and great views we were able to relax and enjoy quality time with our grandkids. The area provided lots of outdoor activities that accommodated the recommended distancing. My daughter and I were even able to shop at the stores in Hot Springs while grandpa babysat. Everyone was kind and appreciative of our business. For our grandsons it was "the best trip yet" and we have promised them a return trip when the weather is warmer and we can take advantage of the dock and water craft. Thank you Derek Jon and Katie Mae. There were not enough stars to really represent how we feel about our stay.

The Nordy Nest is a beautiful home. Large enough for two families to spread out and feel comfortable. The lake views are amazing and wine by the fire pit at night was my favorite part! Also, the owner is very helpful. My son left his baseball glove and he went out of his way to send it to us with no added cost! We appreciated it so much! Highly recommend!
