The cottage features an all-on-one-level layout, sweeping ocean views, a wood-fired hot tub, and direct access to Chimney Corner Beach via dedicated seasonal stairs. It’s a serene setting for dramatic sunsets and unhurried time by the coast, with the Cabot Trail nearby and Cape Breton Highlands National Park within easy reach.
THE SPACE
Designed by the internationally renowned architects MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple, Juniper blends traditional style with refined modern detailing. Clean lines, warm finishes, and expansive ocean views create a calm, intentional space that feels both elevated and deeply connected to its surroundings, comfortably accommodating up to two guests.

Note: The ladder provides access to mechanical and storage areas only. All guest living spaces are located on the ground floor.

• Kitchen: Lowered sink and cooktop, pull-out pantry, and ADA-compliant bins.

Communal Amenities:
• Direct access to Chimney Corner Beach via dedicated stairs
• Shared outdoor kitchen with BBQ
• Wood-burning fire bowl and propane fire bowl
• Wood-fired Sauna

Seasonal Availability: The beach stairs, outdoor shower, outdoor kitchen, BBQ, and firebowls are unavailable from October 15 to May 15. The wood stove is not for use from May 15 to September 21.
SURVEILLANCE
Security cameras are in public access areas and do not have views of private cottage areas.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire cottage, deck, and hot tub, as well as shared access to the communal areas. Self-check-in is available using the cottage key secured inside a lockbox.
ADDITIONAL RULES
• Rental Agreement: Must be signed within 72 hours of booking, or the reservation may be subject to cancellation.
• Check-in: Begins at 4:00 PM.
• Check-out: Before 10:00 AM to allow our team to prepare for arriving guests.
• Pet Policy: One dog is welcome; a pet fee applies per reservation. No cats or puppies under 12 months.
• Quiet Hours: From 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.
• No Smoking: Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are not permitted inside the cottage.
• Safety and Care: Do not climb on, push against, or hang from structures, and please use caution near cliff edges.
• Hot Tub: Keep the hot tub covered when not in use. Replace the covers and secure all latches after each use.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location was serene and picturesque, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The cottage itself was charming, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully appointed with every detail carefully considered.The service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into making guests feel comfortable and valued. One standout feature was how pet-friendly the property was—even dog bowls were thoughtfully provided, which made our furry companion feel just as welcome as we did.There was truly nothing to fault; every aspect of our stay was seamless and enjoyable. Five Stars! Our two-week stay at Ridge on the Chimney in Juniper Cottage was simply unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with this unique and special place nestled near Margaree Harbor and Inverness NS.The thoughtfully designed layout of the cottage made for an incredibly comfortable and effortless living experience. Every detail was carefully considered—daily life essentials were beautifully integrated without overwhelming the space, creating a perfect harmony of aesthetics and function.The wood-fired hot tub was a highlight, offering a wonderfully relaxing way to soothe sore muscles after long days of hiking, all while enjoying breathtaking sunsets over the majestic ocean views. The private path to the beach was a daily adventure, where we delighted in wildlife sightings—brown hares, eagles, seals, and a variety of fascinating birdlife.The tranquility and solitude of this retreat provided invaluable comfort and a much-needed escape for our spirits. Scott and his team exemplify genuine care and hospitality. Their friendly, attentive service and pride in maintaining the property truly made us feel special. Their local knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing the area’s natural wonders, restaurants, and events enriched our stay even further. The cleaning team was beyond awesome ( and I know, I spent a career in commercial facilities contracting!)We have never felt so comfortable, relaxed, and reluctant to leave as we did at Ridge on the Chimney.

What a beautiful location! The lovely cottages overlook a picture-perfect beach cove. Cottages were wonderfully designed and decorated. Host was responsive and friendly. We look forward to our next visit!
