We were visiting family for Christmas & booked what looked to be a small but charming property in the quintessential historic downtown. We arrived and witnessed the cleaners coming out of the property rolling a box spring down the street in a bit of a “sketchy” area of town. We walked into the property & the odor was that of trying to portray a clean home but not really clean. The walls looked like 100-year-old paint, the Ikea beds that were 2 inches off the ground would be fine for a college dorm. When you are choosing a VRBO you want it comfortable like a home away from home. This home was so substandard, cold & uncomfortable that we called the host immediately to inform her we could not stay there. Beware you will not get the warmth & charm that you are expecting from the photos & description. Out of our 1600.00, we got a whopping 265.00 refund. On a positive note, the bathroom is the nicest room in the house.

We had trouble locating the property despite GPS. We eventually found it and coukdnt operate the lockbox. Kids jimmied it open and we got the key. Unfortunately the host was not available to help at that particular time. The inside was great and well appointed with everything we needed. A door keypad and a bottle opener would be good additions.
