About this house rental
We are a longtime Super Host and Guest Favorite on the other, bigger vacation rental site. Search online for carmeldolphinhouse for more reviews.
Fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake up to watch for dolphins, sea otters, whales, and sea birds. Take a path next door to a secluded beach or a scenic 10-minute drive to Carmel restaurants or Big Sur hiking. Just 8 miles away are Pebble Beach and Monterey. Our home is fully appointed with natural wood, stone and glass, plus designer furniture and a kitchen equipped by professional chefs in our family. All sheets are 800 or 600-thread count 100% sustainable cotton. *Why do we have a variable pricing policy? This allows a couple or small group to pay per person rather than full capacity of 8. Many of our guests are just one couple so we have tailored our pricing for parties of two. The base listed rate is for two guests, there’s a fee for each additional guest. *Sorry, no visitors*
The home’s two entries offer privacy among guests, with the Guest Wing ideal for extended families. All 4 bedrooms have bathrooms en-suite and there's a 5th bathroom near the living room. Main entry:

+ Chef’s Kitchen with Blue Star range. All-Clad, Sur La Table, and Henckels cookware and serving ware, as well as four coffee-making systems.

* Natural table linens and cotton napkins.
+Small bathroom with vintage clawfoot tub
+Host’s suite has a king bed with a door to the deck and hot tub, plus an outdoor shower. The bathroom en suite has a partial ocean view and a large, curbless shower. Towel warmer, salon-quality hair dryer.
+Queen + Twin suite. One queen bed, one twin. The bathroom en suite has a partial ocean view, jacuzzi tub /shower, towel warmer, hair dryer.
Guest Wing entry opens to
+ Rec room. Huge Dr. Pitt sectional, small fireplace, foosball, music keyboard, TV, Apple TV+ (with Netflix, etc) board games, skylights, partial ocean-view deck.
+ Upstairs guest suite. King bed. Ocean view, gas fireplace. Bathroom en-suite features antique vanity and a large glass-tiled shower. Towel warmer, salon-quality hair dryer.
+ Lower guest suite has a queen bed. Includes small workspace alcove: leather Bellini chair and basic desk. The bathroom en suite has a full-size glass-tiled shower. Towel warmer, hair dryer.
The main deck faces the ocean and features a hot tub and outdoor furniture. A hot water shower is around the corner for privacy.
Shaded by Monterey pines, a stone patio faces the ocean. It has a teak dining set and holsters for two hammocks. There's a stainless steel grill near this.
Internet is ATT UVerse's highest speed available with wifi booster. Please note that mobile phones work best with the Wifi since cell service is spotty in the area.

Very clean, great view Just know that the air conditioner is a portable 1 room ac We arrived apparently during a hot time- it was House had been closed up House Instructions say open windows and turn on the Dyson fan for ac…. No air movement outside so our first night was very uncomfortable as the house stayed too warm in the bedrooms. Thankfully the next day is cooled down and it was fine after that. Everything else was as noted Beds were comfy, hot tub was clean Great location

The Home was amazing, views were breathtaking and from our story book. Simply amazing. The home was very cozy and well maintained and I felt at home. Everything you could need was provided. Enjoyed the backyard and deck seating areas, spent all our time there enjoying their amazing views of the cliffs and vegetation and nature and Pacific Ocean. Karen was a sweetheart from the beginning to the end of our stay and was easily reachable. We loved it. Had planned many adventures around Carmel Highlands areas but decided to stay home ( Karen’s Home) because we felt so comfortable and relaxed and at Peace. Thank you Karen We will be coming back soon.

Listing says AC but the unit was turned off. The rooms were not air conditioned per mentioned with a traditional unit. Windows had to be opened. It was comfortable though. The hot tub had a terrible odor like it hadn’t been maintained or cleaned out in awhile. Other than these two issues it is a great property. We had a great experience there.
