The view from the balcony was nice! The options for various pools is always nice. We visit every summer and this was our second time booking this room.
The maids are not cleaning the rooms before each guest checks in. The floors were not vacuumed. The bedding in master bedroom was clearly stained, had hairs on it, and black flecks all over it. Called and they sent more bedding along with the cleaning ladies to replace the bedding. We definitely felt like they were talking about us the entire time they changed out the bedding.
The showers and baths were not cleaned. The balcony had someone tobacco pouch on it and was not swept.
I understand we pay a cleaning fee when booking. The owner has to pay Wyndham to clean the rooms. But the maid service is clearly lacking or just does not care. This room was not cleaned, it was significantly dirtier than last year when we booked the same exact room.
The scarier part was there was clearly an altercation of some sort in this particular room as the door was kicked in, slightly plastered on the top right, but the door no longer functioned properly. Deadbolt wouldn’t lock and the chain was attached to a door frame that wasn’t fully attached to wall. Called for that after the first night (we placed furniture in front of door over night the first night). They did “fix it”
By ensuring the deadbolt functioned. But the issue with door frame remained.
The room had noticeable holes in walls and baseboards, as if someone was rowdy in room and they just didn’t fix it.
Also battled the broken A/C for almost an entire week before the maintenance guy finally brought a portable A/c unit. If we were not in room to reset the A/C manually every 30 minutes, it shut off and it would be a nice 78 inside. So every time went to pool or dinner… hot upon returning.
The hotel itself was in much worse condition this year. The pool decks were not cleaned regularly. We checked in on Monday, and our view from the balcony clearly showed the dirtiness of the pool deck as the days passed. One man would walk around with dustpan, broom, and a leaf blower on the north side.
