After a day spent exploring the great outdoors, cozy up in front of the living room's wood fireplace - a cup of cocoa and your vacation read in hand. When you aren't hanging out here, the front porch overlooks lovely pond views and is a great space to catch up with the people who mean the most to you. The cabin's sleeping quarters are equally plush, lined with soft linens and comfortable mattresses. The retreat's amenities extend to a private washer/dryer, partial air-conditioning, and internet access. When exploring the area, be sure to check out the Cradle of Forestry Overlook, Sliding Rock, the Cradle of Forestry in America Museum, State Rock Creek, and Springdale Resort. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only seven miles away and sports 469 miles of scenic views of the Appalachian Highlands. On the way there, fly fish in the Pigeon River or go for a hike at Looking Glass Falls. On the subject of hiking, Cold Mountain houses the famous Great Balsam Mountains, whose summit takes seven hours to reach.
