Unwind at this rural and tranquil retreat just 15 minutes outside of historic Westcliffe, CO one of the most scenic and charming mountains towns in the West. Experience the Alpenglow at sunrise, stunning sunsets, and unparalleled stargazing under the world's highest elevation International Dark Skies.
Alpenglow - an atmospheric optical phenomenon which makes mountains appear to glow in a light pink or red hue. It occurs just after the sun sets or just before it rises. This is one of the most majestic sights to experience. The alpenglow over the Sangre de Cristo’s is specular! Sangre de Cristo is Spanish for “Blood of Christ” and are the southernmost subrange of the Rocky Mountains. The name of the mountains may refer to the reddish hues observed during sunrise and sunset, and when alpenglow occurs, especially when the mountains are covered in snow.
Other things to note:
Newly installed split units offer air conditioning! Not always needed at this elevation, but it is a welcomed luxury when the temperature rises.

The house was just perfect, all the instructions were clear and detailed. I can’t even begin to say how impressed I was with all the extras and items that were all over the house and just in the right place. I have stayed in many great rentals but this one has been the best. We didn’t get to use everything (grill, fireplace and more) but just knowing they were there to use was pleasing. The owners have thought of everything. The decor and furniture were also beautifully placed. Of course the area and views are amazing and we were fortunate to have great weather. We will definitely come back again!

Spectacular! Breathtaking views, idyllic setting and the house does not disappoint. Kitchen has everything you’ll need, bathrooms were fully stocked, and the bedrooms are so cozy. The property owners were quick to respond when we had a small question. Would definitely return as well as highly recommend!

Yes our host was great helpful withgetting thete and check in very easy. Amenities everything you needed. The beds were very comfortable .
