The island where the resort is located is really nice. Generally speaking the environment is better than Miyako itself which seems kind of worn out. You need a transportation method though (we rented bikes) because uber/taxi might not be always available.
The resort has been recently renovated and the room was super cozy and chic. The pool overlooking the ocean was a real treat.
They were hard to get in touch with both through Booking platform and per email. Once we arrived they gave us a Whatsapp contact that they do not monitor constantly though. Staff leaves the property at night. We had some sort of misunderstanding regarding my vegan diet that I tried to communicate beforehand but in the end they provided vegan breakfast every day. The non vegan options were all pretty much good. They were generally very kind and helpful and got me in touch with the bike rental pretty fast.

Very dark bathroom sink area ie terrible lighting
No guttering in a typhoon zone - exterior dripping rainwater onto outside deck was very noisy so needed earplugs to sleep
Very uncomfortable wooden sun loungers with no cushions
Breakfast just ok
Not even a Bluetooth speaker to connect your phone too
Have stayed in better places for a fraction of the price
Room for improvement - doesn’t seem to have been fully thought through which is crazy considering the price

The accommodation is incredible. The pool is such an amazing feature but it’s not the only one. The bathroom is one you could spend hours in. The high end features all around the place are fantastic.
The staff are also fantastic.
We waited too late to get dinner and there were no cabs willing to come get us, so the manager, who spoke fairly good English, drove us to a local Izakaya she recommended in her personal vehicle. She then helped translate the menu and even arranged a special birthday breakfast for us the next morning to celebrate my partner’s birthday.
It was way over and above anything we expected and I wish we could have stayed longer.
The only thing that is a bit of an issue is the distance from restaurants if you don’t have a vehicle. If you have a vehicle, it is a great location!
They have a restaurant on site, but it was too expensive for us (~$190cnd/person).
That being said, we were grateful for the amazing privacy of being in a more secluded area, and had we been more prepared and come with some snacks or microwave meals, we probably wouldn’t have left the room at all… so trade offs.
