The communication with the owner was very good — quick, friendly, and helpful.
The location is excellent if you are travelling by train, especially if you use Bari Palese-Macchie station, as the accommodation is literally about 20 metres from it. There are only a few trains passing by, so despite the proximity to the railway, it was barely noticeable and didn’t disturb us.
It is also very close to Bari Airport — around 10 minutes by car. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away. There are bakeries, grocery stores, pharmacies/drugstores and other useful places nearby, so you have everything you need within walking distance.
The area around the entrance had a strong smell of urine. I’m not sure whether it was from dogs or people, but it was noticeable and unpleasant.
The accommodation is on the ground floor. People were passing by and talking until late in the evening, and you can hear practically everything from outside.
The apartment is also part of a larger house and seems to be a converted part of a family home. There is an indoor locked door connecting it to the rest of the house, and you can hear what is happening on the other side.
This is definitely not a luxurious or modern place, so I would recommend keeping expectations realistic.
The mattress was extremely soft and felt very old. You sink deeply into it, and it felt as though it had been used by countless people before us. I found it very uncomfortable and it significantly affected the quality of sleep.
