On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, and I really liked having a power outlet beside the bed. The AC was working well, although I was told to keep it at 24°C because otherwise it could cause water to leak. There is also a fridge, and the reception is on the second floor where you can leave your luggage.
What I really liked was the cleanliness. Someone cleans the bathrooms and common areas every morning, and the place is well ventilated. Even with shared dorms and a restaurant downstairs, I never felt that the hostel had a bad or unpleasant smell.
The restaurant downstairs was actually one of my favorite parts. I tried the Castello pasta on my first night. They said it was spicy, but I didn’t find it very spicy at all. It was creamy and really tasty. I also had the Calamari Grill with vegetables for lunch, which I enjoyed as well. The food was genuinely good. There is a small indoor seating area, but most of the tables are outside.
The location is excellent if you want to stay inside Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The hostel is very central, just off Stradun, and you don’t have to deal with a lot of stairs to reach it. You are close to restaurants, shops and the main sights.
There is no laundry facility in the hostel, but there is a Spin laundromat near Pile Gate, which is convenient if you need to do laundry.
I originally booked a 4-bed mixed dorm, with Bed 23 on the lower bunk. Unfortunately, when I arrived, another guest had extended her stay and was still using the bed assigned to me. There was a discussion between the guest, myself, and Martha, the manager. Martha offered to refund the other guest, but since it was already nighttime, I decided to be flexible and stay in the 6-bed dorm for that night instead of my original 4-bed booking, with the plan to move back the next day.
I appreciated that Martha tried to find a solution. However, because I ended up staying in a different and more people sharing dorm than the one I had originally booked, I was hoping there would be some adjustment for that night. Instead, I was offered 30% off the food at the restaurant. I appreciated the gesture, although the situation did leave a little mark on my overall experience.

The bed was shaking and ripping from the slightest movement which was waking me up at night all the time.
At night it gets very loud because of a party bar next door
