The next-door beach is also always available for your use. ***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed*** Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival. Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around Mother Nature.

We loved the house, loved the location. Being right on the cove gave us the advantage of magnificent sunsets (truly some of the best I've seen) and being able to jump in the water from the back beach, a bioluminescent bay!! Kids loved it. OK, for the suggestions: bikes!! Rum Point is a place to its own with plenty to do without leaving. But, the restaurants and beaches were a bit of a walk. Once, twice, OK, but trekking the distance every day, sometime 3-4 times a day, got a bit much. You could rent a car, but having a car if you are intent on staying in Rum Point is waste IMHO. That said, you need to get your groceries in order before you arrive on or your way to the house (50 min. drive from the airport). I would not hesitate to return to this property.

Stayed 4 nights at Sea Cove for a Cayman dive vacation. This is a very nice 2BR 2 bath villa! It was spotlessly cleaned and even shined upon entry. The private beach area was freshly raked and two water basins already put out for washing sand off our feet. The exterior appeared to be recently painted and the screened porch was in very good shape. The bedroom upstairs is a king bed with two sinks and a giant double shower. The bottom floor bedroom is a queen with the full bath with access from the hall. Plenty of storage and closets. In addition to two folding cots (with mattresses) that are stored in the closets, the second living room is easily converted into a 3rd private bedroom (with doors) with a pull out sleeper sofa. All the necessary kitchens needs are there and there is an abundance of beach towels, linen, and sheets. The furniture is clean and in good condition and the glass dining table inside can seat 8 people. The location is great – you are directly on the calm of BioLuminescent Bay and there was an available double kayak to use on our beach. Starfish Point is minutes away. The Kaibo Yacht Club (upstairs highly recommended and so nice!) and Rum Point restaurants are within 2 minutes drive, each with lunch and dinner options. We noticed one previous review mentioned the deck was rotted with dangerous nails heads poking up – it’s not really the case, the wood is all in fine condition with some limited and expected warping (does not need replacement) and there were a few areas with raised nail heads. It was hot enough that you needed sandals anyway and this is fairly typical of salt air wood deck conditions. A few minutes with a hammer will fix it easily. Did not have any bug problems, kept food well sealed. Highly recommended – we had a great time!

As we arrived up to the house, Sea Cove looked very charming. As we walked in, a bit dated with mismatched dishes, towels and sheets throughout. Bugs were horrible in the kitchen and in the backyard. But sadly by far the deck most definitely need to be replaced! Nails were sticking out of the rotted wood which made it almost impossible to walk on. Ultimately, the price is right but plan on finding a different backyard or beach to enjoy during the day.

Great location for Rum Point access. Very quiet and private. House was nice and clean and beach area was as described with great sunsets and water access. Third sleeping area with pullout sofa needs a new sleeper sofa, as the old one was not acceptable to sleep on with any comfort. Managers are aware and are working to provide a new one. This is a great location and good value for the price. Just have many minor maintenance issues that are being addressed by the property manager. Guest feedback always helps the owners know what to fix or update, since they do not live there full time. Our family loved the location and ease of getting to the Rum Point Club or Kaibo's for dinner.

This was our fifth visit to Grand Cayman, our fourth to the North side. SeaCove was a perfect location for our family week. We were a family of six with a one year old. We celebrated an engagement, out by the dock and watched our son propose on bended knee. ( we now know where to buy extension cords and white Christmas lights on island).we also celebrated a birthday( mine) at the Rum Point Club. The house was well equipped and supplied, especially the kitchen. Sharper knives would be a plus ( my husband, the surgeon's obsession) Silver Thatch provided all the baby equipment, including a gate, all in perfect condition. We spent most of the week at the house, did some snorkeling off the dock and generally just relaxed. There was plenty of outdoor furniture to accommodate all. Rum point is an easy walk for snorkeling and swimming. Kaibo offers a great restaurant and bar, again within walking distance. They also do takeout. The bioluminescence in the bay was amazing. After discovering we could trigger it off the dock with a stick in the water, we progressed to feeding the fish and watching their trails. A word of caution: there are loads of jellyfish in the bay. We avoided being stung especially while snorkeling, but other guests were not so luck in the past according to house book comments. These jellyfish look like plant life. We would suggest having kayak availability at the house, as do all the neighbors. Rental prices seemed steep. If we had neighbor renters, we would have asked to borrow one. If you are traveling with more than 4 adults, the third room accomodation is a pull out sofa. We did know this in advance but it was not the most comfortable. On the other hand, it's a cold winter up north! It was an overcast, windy week and we were unable to do a snorkeling trip to Coral Garden, a not to be missed adventure. White sand water sport out of Kaibo offers a reasonably priced trip for those looking to avoid the big boat tours. We used them on our last visit and there were only 10 passengers that day. We would certainly consider returning to SeaCove.
