My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Stockholm Stadshotell. The ladies at reception were wonderful & welcoming, I’d admired some flowers that they had picked from their garden when we checked in and they placed a vase of them in our room, nice touch. Beautifully designed and elegant, the quality of materials is exceptional. The Bar is a little gem, breakfast is perfect and the sauna is superb. We compared the bed to sinking into a pavlova, just so comfortable!
Try the Oscar cake in the bar ( but share )
The quality of the towels are sumptuous but it would be wonderful if the hand towels are one size bigger as they aren’t large enough to ‘turban’ wet hair after a shower .. women with long hair will understand!

Beautiful, impeccable experience. Every bit of space is considered, quality design. The staff was warm, welcoming and highly attentive. I LOVED The curated small things that make this hotel special (art, key fob wrapped in leather, 3 layer curtains, shower system, teenage engineering music box in the room)
I only wish there were more communal spaces - inside and out (besides restaurant) - for guests since rooms were a bit small

Beautiful hotel, with very well thought through interior design. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel building is historic and beautiful and formerly a widowers' home, as we were told by the receptionist upon check in. The hallways are grand and lovely, as is the courtyard. The decor was overall rather plain given the opulence of the structure. The room was clean and the towels were soft. The shower water pressure was very strong, which was the hotel's most positive attribute.
Given the ratings of this hotel we had pretty high expectations and were unfortunately let down. The a la carte breakfast was okay, but did not compare to the amazing buffet breakfasts at other Stockholm hotels we have seen. Our room window was sealed shut, did not open even a little bit, leaving us with stale air that was super dry. We asked for a fan and were told one would come, but one never came. The bathroom was incredibly small and did not have a fan. Shower water leaked outside the shower. Ice cold water dripped from the rainfall shower spout despite it being turned off and the handheld shower being set to hot water. The neighborhood felt very quiet and not close to many things in Stockholm except large apartment buildings. If you are wiling to walk at least 10 minutes you will find a street with restaurants on it. During this trip we stayed at five different hotels and this was the most disappointing of them all, as well as the most expensive by a significant amount. I could not recommend it to others.
