The place was amazing as other reviews have shown. Also there are personal touches that make it nice. The view and huge balcony after great. The road coming from above is ok, from the bottom is steep, but also this is Italy :-). The garage is great. owner was also very responsive and helped a bit with some medical assistance questions.
You don't just share a staircase, the only thing partitioning the apartment from the stairway and entrance to the owners apartment is a curtain. Although a heavy curtain, it does sometimes feel like someone was coming into the house, especially since we had everything open (heatwave) and someone went in and out a few times between 2 and 3 in the night. The place is still awesome and location, room and view wise much better than a hotel, but wanted to put this in so people know what to expect. Apparently no one else has been bothered by this so perhaps it's subjective to us. This is just the factual layout as it is :-)

The apartment is well equipped and nicely furnished. The bed was comfy and there is adequate closet space and drawers. Having a washer is nice, and we appreciated the two different coffee machines. The terrace is spacious and the view is spectacular (even with a few electric wires). It was a very quiet and calm environment. The yard/garden is very nice.
There are three significant issues with this property that you should be aware of:
1. The road to the apartment is long, steep and very narrow with lots of cars parked on the sides. Only one car can pass at a time and there are few places on the road to be able to move over, thus often requiring backing up when you encounter another car. Not for the faint of heart.
2. The included parking space in the garage, which is the only real parking option, is extremely difficult to get in and out of as it is at an angle from the entrance to the garage. It requires very close maneuvering to avoid several protruding corners and other parked cars. This is quite inconvenient and stressful to deal with.
3. The apartment really consists of three separate rooms (living area/kitchen, bedroom and bath) each with separate doors that are all connected to an open stairwell landing. Unless you close each of the doors there is no real privacy from the stairwell and landing other than a curtain in front of the landing. If you leave the doors open as you will want to do in order to go from one of the 3 seperate to another, there is no visual or sound privacy - just the curtain. This is not apparent from the listing photos.
