It was close to the train station, which was convenient.
The room was a bit run down, could use some fresh paint. The train horns were loud. There were mosquitoes in the room.

Location was good
It was not maintained well. The rooms are not maintained well. Bed sheets pillows washrooms are not good.

Excellent location, fairly decent get-up and maintenance, good food in a decent restaurant.
Bathroom was a big disappointment- old fittings coated with mold and water deposits, very high step to get into the bathroom, the jammed soap dispenser was not fixed even after reporting to the reception at least four times.
Constant hooting of trains as the hotel is right next to the train station- that's probably not the hotel's fault, but the corridors tend to get extremely noisy when guests talk loudly in the corridor. I was particularly unlucky when two tour groups descended on the hotel and their members were talking loudly in the corridor.
The restaurant staff sometimes goes overboard in making suggestions.
The staff go overboard in supplying the two complementary bottles of water, whether the previous ones had been consumed or not, yet the free tea-coffee sachets in the room were not replenished even after they had been consumed.
The promised packed breakfast for my early departure to Khajuraho was never delivered, despite promises by the restaurant manager and even the hotel manager- they even offered suggestions on what to pack. Yet no one at either at the reception or the restaurant had any clue about the packed breakfast when I was leaving for Khajuraho.
